Ah, the staple of the grimdark setting: The Last Stand. You pull it off spectacularly well, throwing us right into the action, got slightly lost a couple of times, but I think that adds a level to the chaotic nature of the action. And with that punch of an ending, just fantastic all around!
I always love characters who stare death in the face and tell them to just try it. Some of the action and thoughts were hard to follow as he was trying to keep it together but overall great theming!
i got a soft spot for characters that fight even though all hope is lost, so i like this guy. At the end you say he gives up, but then he doesn't give up. I think there's so much more you could have done in this part with his inner turmoil and fear.
You told a good story using a classic character type. Nice work!
Delivers on the promise set by the title! Maybe a little monotonous in the middle but gets to a juicy conclusion, good work!
