cool idea, and yes it was hard
Really good game, enjoyed playing it. My rating: Fun 4, Audio 3, Graphics 4, Idea 4, Theme 4
Great presentation! The initial logo and no AI screen are a nice touch and well made. The visuals and music are good too. The ability to build/customize your player is really interesting and ambitious. Personally, I think if the screen was zoomed out a little, it would help the player see where they had to go. But I do appreciate how you can move the camera with the mouse. Overall great job!
The mechanic of dragging equipment around to solve each level is such a genuinely creative and original idea — once it clicks you get those brilliant "Oohhh!" and "Eureka!" moments that make puzzle games so satisfying. The art is great and the splash screens are a nice polished touch. Really impressive that this was all done without any AI art — you can feel the craft and personality in every asset. A more in-depth tutorial and customisable controls in a future version would really help players get into it faster and experience all the depth this game has to offer. This game has serious potential beyond the jam! Feel free to check out my sky platformer too 😊
This game feels truly original, great efforts loved it.
That's actually a crazy game idea! I like it! Great splash screens by the way!
this game can go really far with a little tweaks!
one of the most unique games in the jam!
I love the art as well
Hello hello so yesterday I was playing around in the garage, and today I tried to play the story! I managed to get to the 2nd/3rd floor, but I think I will have to play it when there will be more time after the JAM. I will leave you but rating of course already now, because honestelly, that you managed to do this everything in 9 days, waw. You know, I feel like this JAM is doing good to games that are simple, because during the voting time everyone is under pressure to play as many games as possible. Your game is very unique and deserves more time to play around. Thats why I want to encourage you, that even if not many people will play it here in this JAM, it does not mean that the game does not have a value. I think it actually has a big potential, just for more normal playing where people have the time to actually play a game and try something new :))) There are for sure some things that have to be fine tuned, but I think that thats normal...what do they expect from us in 9 days haha :) and especially for games that are innovative, like yours. So good job and keep going and developing, you have a brain for it ;)
PS: just at least a little feedback on the controls, because I have a keyboard without NumPad, I was using the top numbers. And unfortunatelly the number for is near to the R key hahaha, so it happened to me a few times, that in excitment I thought I am pressing number 4, I actually pressed the R key hahaha and restarted the whole Floor haha :)) So maybe thats just a little practical thought. I tried to use my separate NumPad, but for some reason the numbers where not working from there.
Thank you a lot for your honest feedback.
Reviews like this are one of the reasons that I enjoy jams and creating stuff in general.
You have motivated me to work on the final version at some point in the future, as I also feel that there is a lot of potential with the game, even if I didn't manage to show it in the Jam. It was honestly a pain to make. The first few days were wasted trying to figure out the physics joins and weird physics errors/bugs, dunno how to call them, and because I didn't have enough time, I was trying to work on it from my actual job as well.
The final version will definitely have customisable controls, even if I have no idea why the separate NumPad isn't working. Will need to check it out when I implement them!
I do understand, yes, reviews are so special to me too because thats how I can learn and improve. And it makes me happy to help this way others too. So let me know if you will need some feedback after the JAM. I like your approach and could give you some more feedback if you will need in your next development. For now wishing you just the best and in case you find some leftover energy and time, you can check my game please too :) It is still a work in progress though :)) this is my first Gdevelop Jam :)
Thank you. I gave it a quick look, but I'll give it a proper one tomorrow as I really need some proper sleep. Just to confirm, the game consists of only one stage? I managed to go to the top with 0 zero points by mixing different stairs 😌 Is there a High score for me to beat? Would love a challenge
Thank you so much for trying and the feedback! I have to make the tutorial more clear, but first I have to finish fine-tuning the game. The idea was that the cat will climb on its own to the top of the tree, and your goal is to bring the tree lower by matching the colors of the stars. When you match them, they disappear. The level would finish once you manage it for a certain amount of time, let's say 1-2 minutes per level. There was supposed to be a ranking with other players who gained The most points. The code is ready to bring the cat tree much higher for the next levels and give it more juice haha, but I didn't manage to finish all these and more on time... So I left the code blocked and left at least this intro... I know it is not the best but I really appreciate any feedback, it helps me improve :)) In case you don't have time now no worries, maybe even after the Jam. I have now literally almost no time left to do more ratings...
Good concept, I have a lot of respect for this type of game, I can see all the though put into the UI and tutorial. I only made it to the 3rd level, I encounter one thing that happen once to me, in the first part when I was trying to shoot the platform If shoot the top platform first the below one doesn't active.
Still, in general I like it. I could see me trying again if move forward. Good work! (and nice art too)
Thank you a lot for trying, and thank you even more for reporting a bug
It's a really interesting concept, the mechanics are well thought out. Not so easy to get the hang of at first, but it quickly becomes interesting and challenging.
Thank you for your comment and thank you for checking it out ^^
Nice game! I enjoyed trying it.
❤️❤️❤️
Very Nice Game . You Have Made Great Levels .The Fact That You Used No Ai Is Great but There is a bug that when i press space to unlock the character i cant use my items anymore overall great game you have done a good job.
Thank you!
This is a weird bug cause it never happened to me.
Can you tell me which equipment you have on? The magnets and propeller are definitely a bit bugged, but the Jumper and Shooter should be working fine, I think. (The jumpers are one use only and the shooter can only shoot 3 times each)
i like the Ai if someone use it for helping for cast out the 'dream game' of the developer. But i like more if a person facing all the work without it so all the recognition can be given to the creator 100%(like me)
The idea is amazing love the way you can drag equipment around! You could have added something like durability or limited uses to the box-glove thingies. That would’ve made the game a bit easier at first, then let you build up the difficulty later. Overall, you did great! I didn’t make it far (my brain gave up before I did), but I respect the creativity.
Thank you for your comment! Your suggestions are great
Great game!! It seems a bit complicated at first, but it gets really interesting the moment you understand what's happening. The difficulty is just right and doesn't irritate you at all. I had plenty of those 'Oohhh' and 'Eureka!' moments.
Really glad to hear this! It saddens me a bit that most players won’t be able to experience all of it since it can get really frustrating, but I also understand their reasons. If I had had more time, I would have focused on a more in depth tutorial and better controls.
I loved this game. Be it the great art, the great levels that confuzeled my smooth brain or maybe the fact that it uses no AI(its so nice to see other game devs who don't support it ) but this game was just amazing! you did such a good job!
Thank you for your kind word! This is my first time hearing the word confuzeled, it sure fits the theme! I'll make sure to use it 😂
I absolutely loathe the use of AI in games, especially with art and even more in Game jams where people are rushing, creating teams and trying to do their best in order to produce something good before the time limit. It kills the whole purpose.
The game works really well, and look great, but I'm experiencing a bug that keeps you from using your items.
Thank you! Can you explain the bug to me? Also, is it on one stage or all of them?
it's on the first stage, it kept me from using 1-4 for the abilities even if I restarted, and refreshing the page was the only thing that fixed it. It only did it to the first stage for me, but it might be for the others
Well, this is definitely concerning for me :{
Is it right at the beginning? I know for sure that if you pass a platform, there is sometimes a chance to freeze your character and be unable to move, but I didn't know about this one that stops you from using your equipment. Is it after you click SPACE to unlock the movement of your character?
yeah, after i press space to unlock the character, I have all the equipment fully available, and it just doesn't let me use it. Nonetheless restarting the game fixes the project and I was able to continue and rate it, so it doesn't matter that much.
