Nice game and one of the best in Story. Great job :)

Thanks

This was really fun! I really liked the tamagotchi town style. It gave me some nostalgia and is a great way to expand on that experience. Nice work!

Nice take on the art direction! You nailed it. It was a fun little ride

Never had one of those, but one day my computer science teacher told us at the beginning of our lesson "if you hear some noises, thats the tamagochi of my daugther dying, because she accidentially put it in my pocket... i fed it with lots of icecream in hope it goes faster" 😬 anyways, nice oldschool game you created there, good job

Cool! I never played Tamagotchi, I see how it could become addictive lol

5/5 aesthetics

Peak !  Short but memorable experience, Music is melodious and really well done.

Great game, I loved the aesthetics and connection to the theme! It's outside the scope of a game jam of course, but I would love to play a version of the game where you have to also manage their relationship to one another via multiple choice dialogues! (something you hinted at when one fo the hueborn complains about another being full of themselves). Great entry! :D

Really cool entry, I liked how the aesthetic choice also played into the theme. I managed to get the tower up to full quite quickly, and I don’t think I ever found the use for medicine or got many dialogues, so maybe I just played a bit too well 😅 Still very cool and I was impressed by the range of mechanics at play.

Also, I see you used Godot, so I’m interested in how you found building a low-res game with it? Especially concerning the UI, did you make your own UI systems or were you able to get the control system working at this low resolution?

Developer(+1)

Hi thanks for checking it out.  The base resolution of project is 84x48, upscaled on Itch settings to 840x480.  ALL UI systems were made in Control nodes and Tiny font was set to 5.  Not alot of words can fit/wrap into the size of the box so dialogue was deliberately split into  each wait for press event.

Gotcha, thanks for explaining! I’m potentially going to work on a low-res game soon for another jam so I appreciate you telling me.

No prob!

Bold to make a game about rainbow colored characters in Nokia monochrome.

It said I took care of them all, and they slid down their rainbow, but I never once found Ola, let alone helped them out!

I believed each hueborn likes a food the same color as themselves, I'm not sure what shrooms would count for though.

There's a medicine option, is that implemented? No one seemed sick, and I had no medicine to give in any case.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yea ran out of time to properly implement sickness. They get about 10% chance of being sick at each new day. They do sometimes get ill but no visual indication and they'd take medicine like eating food. Doesn't affect stats much but would like to implement fully post-jam. You're correct each of them likes the food of the same colour, more or less. 👍
