Nice little game. Quite simple but a solid entry all the same. Adding a little bit of animation or music would have enhanced it. Well done though!

Developer

Thank you! I agree, the game is still quite simple. I added some recorded sounds, but I didn’t have enough time to add music or proper animations during the jam. I’m working on an improved version now with better feedback and small pop-up reactions to make it feel more alive. Thanks for playing!

Nice to see a fellow GDevelop user on here 👋

Game runs nice and is well made. I would of added an Icon on top right or something that shows what the monster wants as reading the text was hard for me.

I did complete it, was very short but that's perfect for the style of game and a Jam.

Great Job 💚

(If you want to team up for a jam using GDevelop ping/DM me in the discord)

Developer

Thank you so much! Nice to see another GDevelop user here too 👋

I totally agree about the icon showing what the beast wants. Reading the text while playing can be hard, so I’ll try to add a visual food indicator in the improved version.

I’m glad you completed the game and that the length felt right for a jam game. Thanks again for the feedback and the kind words 💚

I don’t have the Trijam Discord yet, but I’d definitely be interested in teaming up for a future GDevelop jam. If you want, feel free to send me your Discord name or another way to contact you!

Nice work! I did a quick recording of my playthrough if you find it useful: Beast Buffet by Daimos123 | Cap Recording

The recorded audio tracks were a nice touch 😄I also like the art for the character and beast.

Developer

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the recording, it’s very useful to see how someone else plays the game. I’m glad you liked the recorded sounds and the character/beast art too!

Nice idea!

Having couple polishing effects like pop up texts or monster reaction, by changing expression would make it feel a lot more alive. Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I agree, adding more monster reactions and better pop-up feedback would make the game feel more alive. I’ll keep that in mind for future improvements!

Wow beast is very hungry and very picky. Loved playing this little bit. I am making one tomorrow to upload so hope you get to play it.

Developer

Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it. I’ll definitely check out your game too!

Fun game, I just felt that sometimes I had no chance to pickup food without touching the toxic slime.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the toxic slime placement can be a bit unfair sometimes. I’ll keep that in mind for future balancing.

nice well done, fun concept. the ui text helped me understand how it worked and what happened (i walked on toxic slime and fed it the wrong food at first)

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad the UI helped. I wanted to make the rules clear quickly since it was made for a 3-hour jam.
