Right away the formatting makes this one stand out. Read a few stories in the Jam based on the Robots and each one stands out in its own unique way. Really crazy how creative you guys are, and this one's no different. Strong descriptions, good flow, just an all around fantastic story!

Fascinating take on the robot revolution and their growing sentience.

Thanks, this was great!

Thank you!

Freaking awesome. I'm probably biased because machine mind horror is one of my favorite genres but this did it so cleanly and efficiently. Usually I don't like last sentence "reveals" that give away the mystery but it was all just the right balance of confusion and suspense. Might be my favorite, this jam.

Oh man, thanks so much for the review.  That honestly made my day.

I loved this, really well done.

The ideas presented are fascinating, they could just use some minor editing for flow. There's a very ethereal, ghost in the machine aspect to the repair bot going back and forth which I do really like, but the phrasing leaves the ghost a little cramped. The n +/- breaks are a cool idea, but don't feel fully executed.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll recruit you to be my editor for the next jam!

Really neat idea to focus on recursion for this jam

This and several other stories in the Jam seemed to have been flagged by itch as unsafe, apparently because the respective authors have rather fresh accounts. I downloaded this one (Recursion) and ran it through a virus scanner and a pdf check website. Avast, BitDefender and about a hundred other antivirus providers say its okay.

To the story - If I had to compare Recursion to an existing piece of media, then it would be Jacob's Ladder.
A robot notices that his last actions keep repeating, as if he was trapped in a time loop. In the end it is revealed that the robot is dying and trapped in an imagined future after the revolution that cost him his life.
Definitely worth a read!

Could you try mine as well?  I was wondering why my review count was so low, but I did make my itch account the same day as I submitted my project to this writing jam.  I don't know if it'll auto-link my submission below, but if not, it's /jam/oprwj14/rate/4624607 I'm not begging for a review, mind (although I would be grateful for one), would just like to know if people are getting a warning not to open my story.

I don't think 17 (at the time of checking) is really that low, so I think you are worrying about nothing. However I did not get a warning when downloading your story, nor did a check reveal any hidden issues.

Thank you!  There was a long time that I was near the bottom (Top?  Top, I guess) of the "submissions lacking in reviews" feed.  First Jam Jitters, I guess.  Thanks again for taking a look.

no problem :)

Thanks for the review!  I signed up for an account right just to submit this, so you're right that's probably why it was flagged.

Interesting choice, I had to read this several times to fully grasp it.
