this is so zany and i feel like it might end in disaster if i tried this with my usual crowd but it's too juicy to not love it. close enough to a mission concept i had that i almost just want to scrap it. the codeword thing is clever and fun, the shared dialogue is great drama for the table, it looks great, it reads well, and there's a reason you're already a jam winner. gonna have to exercise my freedom* to cassette shop and give my boombox some love if I ever rustle enough people who can get their ADHD locked down for this. innovative and stylish, great stuff
Oh I gotta run this with my group for sure, one player is interested in refereeing a game themselves sometime and this might be the perfect in.
Great style, interesting mechanics. I'm a little confused on the codeword system but a reread will probably fix that.
yes the codeword system is kind of a bear. I think it plays out as fun at the table, and there is
*spoiler*
by design only ONE point in the game where its *thing* triggers
However, posting here in this reply a bonus rule - if at any point the CODEWORD for the hex your team is in matches your FIST agent’s name, you get an ultra-shotgun
Neat setup, never seen something quite like it! It makes me want to throw another ref into the mix who's just moving npc patrols around and potentially complicating things even more! Nice work on the layout/vibes/art too. I think having these separate booklets and roles/procedure would help put the players into the mindset of smuggling and clandestine ops too.
Love the two team situation, very cool. Can see this being played at a convention or with a dedicated group for an awesome mission.
I adore the concept of running two teams with two handouts, the grid map with the codes is also just a fun way to go about this concept. The layout is super clean and I love the colors and style! Amazing work here overall.
One thing is I believe there is a typo in the back of the eastbound handout where it says "After players navigate to any tile in 'A'", shouldn't this be any tile in 'E' instead? The EB team already starts on the A column and their goal is the E column, right?
Absolutely a typo, you got the concept exactly - thank you for the catch!
honestly excited that the system was clear enough to catch a typo :)
I was second guessing if I had the system right but this is confirmation I got it down,, which is good to hear :)
Typo fixed - thanks again!
Love this concept!
Moving cultural contraband across the Iron Curtain is a great idea!
Very well done, I like it a lot.
The hexagon movement is very interesting too.
Great setting and layout. Reading through them, i like the variety of encounters and various german names. The "jam" trait, referee and team structure is also an interesting idea for a game night!
