- I really like how you interpreted the idea. It made me instantly reflect on life for a moment. Just a small note: be careful when bringing up sensitive ideas. Maybe you can add a trigger warning at the start if needed, because we never really know what kind of trauma a player might have while playing. Sometimes, "death" is not acceptable for everybody.
- I really like the way you guys stitch this game. Especially the art style. The difference between the gameplay and the cutscene art style, and how it all blended in the end, is really nice. Even from gameplay perspective, the fact that you support full keyboard mechanics is really nice. I do wish its was a bit longer, and the sound effects was punchier and more satisfying when you type. Because then you can even play around with it when the character is starting to lose the satisfaction of hustling. Overall to be honest, keep this concept in mind. It felt personal, and I do believe when done correctly it can be a simple narrative game in the future.
- hook: the concept is grounded and the intended experience (feeling stuck) conveyed really well. although not instantly clear on the objective and what to do, due to the repetition player eventually push through. gameplay: as other has pointed out, there is a strong opportunity to make this a typing game where the difficulty can be tweaked throughout the progression. i get that the lack of clear progression indicator might be intentional to convey the idea of feeling stuck. however since the team introduce money at the beginning, player might wonder how that "money" will be brought up in the game again. one idea is to occasionally pop up an email (since you already have email event in the game) which require player to transfer some amount of money. with that each mechanic will work well together while keeping the intended stuck feeling like running in a "hamster wheel" . cohesion: the intended experience and mechanic idea works in tandem. the narrative is classic but can be weaved better during the main gameplay. verdict: a strong narrative game with relatable theme which succesfuly convey the intended experience of feeling stuck. while needing a little polish on the game design and core mechanic choice, it is a well thought contained story-based game.
Game Premise
Raka is constantly running, not because he knows where he wants to go, but because he is afraid of being left behind.
Chained by the shadows of other people’s success, he sacrifices his time, relationships, peace, and faith in the name of productivity. But the more he tries to catch up, the more he loses himself.
"Chained by Other People's Shadows" is a narrative game about comparison, ambition, regret, and the quiet things we abandon while chasing a life that was never truly ours.

This is so cool! May be a variant - instead of arrows, we can type words instead?
