The rotating sprites and smooth parallax scrolling were really cool.

I liked the sound effects for the engine and gun too.

You've got the basis of a really cool game here!

Developer

Thanks! I certainly spent a lot of time trying to make those graphics effects work smoothly. Happy you enjoyed it!

Scrolling and the use of Mode-Q was cool. I see it was unfinished prototype, I was pressing space and there was just sound, didn't realize you have to crash on meteorites to get collectables although I tried few times and didn't, maybe I needed to keep crashing :)

It takes 3 hits on an asteroid to break it apart fully. Originally it was 5 before I gave up on trying to get lasers working before the deadline :)

It’s an enticing concept. I had a similar idea (of having a spaceship doing missions in a top-down view including collecting resources) back when I was planning for the DOSember 2025 game jam, but I ended up dropping it.

Sound effects are interesting, given the Adlib constraint. There were a few quirks here and there (planets would partial appear on the right when they were to appear on the left), but it’s nicely done. Consider reusing some parts of that in a future jam!

Developer

The sound effects were kind of a last minute addition to get working properly if I'm being honest :)

I had never done adlib programming before, or really even any kind of sound engine for a DOS game so that's what I was able to figure out in an evening one day before the submission lol

I'll for sure want to continue with this game in the future when I have more time. I'm proud of what I made so far, but my vision was a lot bigger than what I ended up with by the time the deadline rolled around.

I love the starfield parallax, and the handling of the ship is great. Would be fun to have more gameplay implemented, but even head-butting asteroids and picking up their precious internals is quite fun.

Sounds good, controls nicely, sprite art is lovely. I love the concept; it would be great to see another version of this with the gameplay implemented.
