Description
Track composed for the Weekly Note Composing Jam #44 . This track is inspired by the theme "Old meets new" and the use of a sample from Victor Jara's "Arauco" composition from his album "Manifiesto". The sound of this track is a mix between ancient indigenous inpsired music and modern production technique, using mapuche percusions (indigenous people from Chile and Patagonia) , synths and a hauting atmosphere filled with different textures. In honor of my people's roots, still very much alive and resisting the ongoing colonization.

Good track ! Everything mix well together in a way were it just to always have belonged here and is fully part of the song. It's also very nice to know more about the song and the sound you used by the description

It was fun to listen to. I enjoyed it even more thanks to your description and you telling us where the sample came from.

Very cool! TIL about the mapuche people. I really like the vibe of this piece. The droning quality and instrumentation choices, with the pan flutey motif on top, would be right at home as exploration music for a game level set in some ancient ruins or something like that, just holding down the vibe. The addition of that plucky slightly twangy instrument at 01:15 harmonising with the underlying pulse is a nice bit of ear candy, especially with that syncopated rhythm against the slow drudging pulse. And rhythmically I just love 6/8 as a rule 😄

At the 3 minute mark things get interesting with the switch to a modern electronic aesthetic. Now I'm feeling a sense of danger or threat as we have progressed deeper into the region. Really liking that bass synth, perfect amount of bite with that slow attack. Ominous without being overly dramatic, love it!

Nicely mixed, no notes really on that front, it feels right.

Great work 👌
