it's very cool using the Earth like a biliards ball! Nice idea

I did a quick recording of my gameplay in case it helps ๐Ÿ˜„ DodgeTheCore by Vex | Cap Recording

A simple core mechanic done well! I had fun trying to dodge asteroids as long as I could. Pixel art is nice too, the incremental earth taking damage looked cool too.

I liked the click making the earth go in the opposite direction, as this made it feel like I had to chase it around the screen and made it more engaging. Nice touch on the arrow changing from green/red to show the player when a click is valid.

A few instances where I took an asteroid hit and it didn't update my earth, not sure if I was actually taking damage as the earth sprite didn't progress.

Overall a solid game! Nice work

Thank you for the recording thats very useful! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and yeah some of the hits definitely weren't registering but there is also more hit points then frames so some that weren't were probably doing something but not all of them ๐Ÿ˜… you definitely picked up on what I had as the intended experience though for the most part, very helpful.

Cool game idea very basic but in a good way.

The controls on pc don't feel great having to click on the earth and would of liked to be able to click anywhere to move it as long as you are aiming correctly.

Found it a little hard to move/keep track of my mouse in time to click it.

Very playable tho and might be harder on mobile?

Asteroids don't always do damage and sometimes just bounce like crazy.

Overall its a good jam game with a cool art style. Little more time to develop would of been great but its a jam so what ya going to do hehe.

My best was around 40s.

Has that "one more try" feel to the game play tho so props on that.

Great job ๐Ÿ’š

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah the hits not registering all the time was a bit of an issue I was having, but there's also more hit points then frames in the earths sprite set so maybe that also makes it feel a bit awkward which I probably should of considered. I'm glad you got that one more try energy and consider it a least a playable experience albeit some grievances.

Nice visuals and unique idea for the theme. For the controls I think the click to move the earth is a bit hard I think hold down click to position and then move on release would feel easier. Great entry โœจ๐ŸŒ

Thank you for the feedback! And haha yeah... seems a lot people have a similar feeling with the controls ๐Ÿ˜…

Was a bit annoying to have to click the earth to move it I think it would have felt better if you could click anywhere and also if the arrow pointed towards your mouse vs away from it
