This is a great game concept. Pressing and holding the Space Bar to "aim", and the same mechanic to reel in felt really good. I think the casting speed was a bit slow and I was waiting for the target to get to the fish a little too long.
The pixel art looks really good; maybe do something with different sized fish to do different point systems; and maybe make bigger fish take longer to reel back in and smaller fish taking less time but be worth a lot less points.
Great concept, great execution, some room to improve your designs.
I didn't realize the player character rotates at first - I love the monochrome, but I think it might have worked a tiny bit better if the player character was the same family of blue but a lighter value, instead of being a similar value but slightly more purple. Also, it's very quiet lol.
I do love that the fish feel really well weighted in terms of difficulty to catch, and I think the feedback for the line breaking was really clear and easy to understand.
Theres just a few comments! Ive had some bugs where the fish swim out of the water that throws me off a bit. Also it seemed to let me go to the next level without playing at all, that was funny. I like the concept and the monochrome art direction! I think the crosshair could be a little bigger and maybe white or something more visible!
I fished, 10/10. Octopus hate me tho. The randomness of the crosshair annoys me a bit but it might be just a personal preference and the theme restriction, not sure if aiming with the pointer and clicking would count as 2 buttons. Otherwise, pretty nice
Pretty cool game, I like the animation for the fish, and the game overall is satisfying. The one thing I'd mention is I wish the player turned side to side faster, it feels like I need to wait too long before casting a line
