Submission Description
Got it done in about 10 days, and then kinda just sat around anxious for a few more. The production is a bit more stripped back then I would normally go for. I attempted challenge 4 and 6 on the same track, Get Up and Die Again just to hopefully make sure I got at least one of them right. (its making me select all bonus challenges to proceed) But yeah hope you enjoy, I really like Datamines.

The hypothetical game is set in a dystopian world. Your character us ejected from a corporate datamine because someone has stolen your profile. Left to wander the wastes you encounter a group of thugs, who steal your autonomy with nanites. You break free from their programming and go on a quest to learn who stole your profile, and travel into the central city to find them. I guess leaving it on a cliffhanger.

Anyway this is a really cool jam, thanks for hosting it.

First off, super cool artwork.

This was very enjoyable to listen to. I think this genre is very fitting for the overall theme and the game you had in mind. I especially liked Kingpin - to me this feels like a good boss fight track.

My main pieces of feedback was that: 1.) While there's nothing wrong that the full submission feels firmly in one genre, but to my ears each track follows a somewhat similar flow and structure to it despite having different tones (where the drums come in, when the track hits its peak, etc.). Having a touch more variation either in the arrangement or the composition could be effective here IMO. Somewhat nitpick, but; 2.) I kinda wish we got a little more to go off of on a track-by-track level just because I'd be curious what your thought process was for each piece, and how they each contribute to your vision.

Thanks for sharing what you've made, and keep up the good work :)

Thanks! Artwork was by a friend. I've heard feedback #1 before, and want to try to incorporate more structural variation in my stuff in the future for sure. And for #2 I did have a little story overview I was working on but I wasn't sure if it would be too much and so I didn't put it all here. But yeah, thanks for the feedback!

You create an interesting atmosphere, before reading the story it is very clear that it is about the technological environment and that is great.  I would have liked you to mention what kind of video game you were thinking of creating it for.  Maybe I overlooked it but you didn't mention it.

Very interesting techno/beat album here! Very good work you got. Its got a steady beat and rhythm throughout. That last song was my favorite though. Nice work. Great instrument choice and the game concept is cool too. Solid.

The music is very rhythmic and percussion driven, which I happen to like. You also get two thumbs up from me for trying every one of the challenges. Nice work on those! I like the tracks overall, although I think some contrasting vibes, especially in terms of dynamics and arrangement, might be welcome here. I was looking for maybe one track that showed a more restrained, subdued and/or contemplative mood. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed these!

thank you so much! so sorry just have to clarify, i did 2 of the challenges, but the submission form wouldn't let me post my project unless I checked all of the challenge boxes. idk if that had been fixed since, but yeah, it was broken at the time. edit: edited my submission to reflect this
