I DON'T CARE WHO THE IRS SENDS
Funny game! I also really like sokoban so this idea really vibes for me, it's a really unique take! (I mean I've definitely never seen a rollerblading tax collection knight)
* More on the sokoban, I REALLY like the twist to the formula that the tie adds. It's really very cool.
* Gorgeous environmental art and overall presentation. VERY polished and professional!
* Cutscenes too are excellent that really adds to the polished feeling.
* Some of the chosen effects, while very smooth, are a little outside NES territory. The diagonal screenwipe in particular feels just out of reach of the console.
* Jammin music!
Overall this is easily one of my favorites this jam, fantastic job!! I would EASILY buy a full version of this!
The controls took some time to get used to, but once you actually GET used to it the game becomes really fun!
Love the graphics, really makes it feel like a NES game
Interesting game once you figure out the mechanics. Good job.
yo this is def one of the most polished games out there, with really good soundtracks and fun gameplay, i had to give this game 5 stars on everything lol, the art is also really good, and i liked the dialogue too, the usage of the theme is pretty nice, and the puzzles weren't very hard but they were in the perfect balance between not being frustrating nor too easy and i had to use my brain to solve them, which is def good, now i usually try to address some stuff that could be improved, but this game is pretty polished that i'm not sure what to criticize lmao, other than that def one of the best games there, even tho i'm not that into puzzle games or anything lol, this is my score too, it def isn't very high since i died a few time but i did manage to beat it nonetheless
I beat the game.
It was fun, the tie is an interesting twist on the sliding formula and the last levels make good use of it, the game is funny and it perfecly nails the NES vibe.
Thanks for sharing!
exactly my type of humour. funny theming and pretty art. neat little puzzles and i think for the jam game it had the perfect length to be novel and nice to play without overstaying its welcome. i’d have loved to see a proper ending though
amazing; i love the big sword and the music is very catchy
Absolutely solid right across the board, and original! Nice
Graphics are amazing, such a big work on the opening cinematic. It looks 100% NES, Great work on music and art.
Honestly this really surprised me, I didn't think I was gonna like it very much, but I love the idea its actually a really fun combination of dudgeon crawler, RPG, and puzzle game. It feels as if it could have been a lost NES game. Took me a minute to figure out that I only needed the keycard to move on besides that 10/10. Fantastic job
Very nice tile work on the backgrounds, cool understated background music. It took me a while to figure out how the controls work exactly, but it's a neat idea. Sadly, I couldn't find my way out of the first five or so rooms, maybe would have been nice to have some kind of hint what kind of goal I'm supposed to be working toward. (First I was like, maybe I need to defeat all the enemies? But then they seemed to respawn when changing rooms?)
Thanks so much 🐶 Yeah, game direction came a bit short unfortunately, but it's something we're looking to improve upon! We already have some top secret plans as to how! It's all part of the wizard's grand scheme to not pay taxes.
I love it! It's super polished, with that great opening scene. Looks, sounds and plays great :)
I did run into an issue, when trying to play it on my SNES style controller. I wasn't able to extend the tie. It did the little flashing animation, but no tie. After I switched to the keyboard, it all worked fine.
Thank you for the feedback! Interesting, what SNES controller was it specifically? We'll have a look and see if we can fix that for the next version :)
It's a SNES-style USB gamepad by a brand called Buffalo. If the issue doesn't exist with other gamepads though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Could just be me. :)
