I finally did a good run, ended on Layer 23 with 66489 points.

It was fun! I like the music when playing and love the intro one. The game could 100% come from a lost cartridge and the gameplay loop is super addictive, the game gets super tense as your time is melting.

For a time I thought I was killing the enemies with the drill, it's probably just me yet maybe the miner might flicker (or cry ;) ) when he gets hits.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow great score! Thank you so much for playing!

You saying that it feels like an actual NES game means a lot! We put a ton of effort and research into making it feel just right.
Yeah some more feedback when you get injured would have helped convey "hey don't touch them" haha.

Much love!

banger game, simple but really well executed!

Reminded me Motherload in a good way. Gameplay was solid and quite enjoyable.

Thank you!

Nice game idea! I liked the digging mechanic + ladder. It was simple but it works very well with the gamedesign. I only thought the upgrades were a bit expensive.

The idea was to force the player to mine valuable ores early in the game while time decays more slowly, but that's something I would change given another chance.  Thank you for playing!

Fun game!

The base gameplay loop was interesting
Simple premise, but solidly executed.

Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for playing!

This was a lot of fun and I really like the gameplay loop and the randomly generated levels.  Really well made and feels like a real NES game!

Pressing down+A to pick up items took some getting used to.  Is there any reason why the items can't be collected by just running into them?

I like the level music and really like the added stress when the time starts running out and the music gets faster.  This was a nice touch :)

Developer

Originally we planned on having multiple items but we felt that it was unnecessary to create a good gameplay loop. Accidentally overriding your current item with another might've been frustrating for the player, so the controls are kinda leftover from that idea. thanks for playing!

I dig this game! Nice music and digging around is fun. Also like the implementation of the light and the temporary upgrades for it. Sometimes it feels like bad luck can hurt you a lot, though. I didn't have enough money to upgrade the drill the first two times I encountered the shop, and after that getting through rocks took quite a long time.

After playing for quite some time, the gameplay loop is quite addictive! I do wish there more obstacles and maps had different types of generation that are more memorable. Awesome Job!

Developer

Yeah the maps can get kinda samey. The only difference being the blocks. Thanks for playing!

I really liked the audio, the gameplay is refreshing although it's not really intuitive at the beginning what is the goal. I found what I think was an item and couldn't grab it, maybe it was bugged? I really dig this game :p

Developer

The goal is to find the exit in each layer. The Exit is placed randomly in each layer and items can be grabbed by holding down and pressing the A button. Probably should put this in the description.
