I'm absolutely in love with the aesthetic of this game! I love how detailed and over the top the HUD is, I love the lo-fi textures and the glitchy sprites. This looks incredible. The actual gameplay is solid too, and the idea of the player controlling a mech is actually really original. I love how much weight it feels like you have when you're driving it -- you really sold the idea that you're in a mech. I... am very bad at the game, lol. But I kept wanting to retry, it was a lot of fun. You did a great job!!

Thanks for playing! I really wanted the mech to feel real and lived-in and immersive despite its goofy aesthetic, so I'm glad that's translating so well! And to hear you kept playing despite dying means I'm getting the "fun" factor in my gameplay worked out pretty well too. I appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

The HUD is incredible, the best I've played in a long time! I do not know how you made the fluffy dice and pine tree air freshener sway like that in easyfps. Something I need to aspire to, It's those little details that I myself overlook and can learn from. Great work!
The sound is excellent, with the gunfire and stomping around, very metallic... died a lot

Thanks for the feedback! My main focus from the start was getting a good immersive lived-in HUD working, and even though I think it needs work still, I'm happy with what I've arrived at in just a few weeks.

If you check out the .txt file I included in my downloads, it has the logic for getting the Tree moving. I started with the basic Animated HUD scripts for health bars, and just fiddled around and manipulated it from there to move with player WASD movement, then finally mouse movements. I still think it could be improved upon, so feel free to play around and have fun. My little addition to the EFPSE library of information. Cheers!

Strongest point is the mech concept, really good visually and feels right when you're walking around without the game feeling too slow. Random weapons are a fun bit but starting with the chainsaw is a death sentence lol. I would usually just hold m1 and spam dash hoping for the best. Enemy sounds are really cool but overall there is a lack of an audio atmosphere. Good potential here for a cool project.

Thanks for the feedback. This was my first game, so I spent most of my time on the Mech HUD and it's aesthetic/feel; I'm glad to hear that's working so well. Admittedly sound is where I was probably most lazy, def something I'd work on if I develop this concept further post-jam; along with better or more unique weapons and enemies. Cheers!

First thing, I LOVE the HUD! Honestly, the visuals are probably the most solid aspect of this game.
I do like the glitchy effect you gave the enemies and the chainsaw was satisfying/fitting for the occasion (hence the cover art lol).

Good work!

Thanks so much! The HUD elements and their animations were my primary focus, so I'm glad to hear it's effective. If I work on this post-jam, I'll likely improve other visuals as well as game systems and enemy/boss behaviors. Cheers!

I really enjoyed this one! It reminded me of those old-school PC games where half the screen was taken up by an awesome-looking HUD. The visuals were great, the level design was fun to explore, and the overall experience was really enjoyable. Great job! 👍

I definitely heavily leaned into "the HUD is the identity of the game" here. Glad to hear it paid off! Thanks for the feedback! Cheers

For a first project, this was really cool. Love the design of the mecha hud, and the glitch enemies are really nice.

Thanks so much! Loved your submission too! The work you've published has been so helpful with both learning and inspiring me with EFPSE development. Much appreciated!
