This was great to finally play after seeing this in dev on the Discord. I reached the end and had fun climbing my up to the top, but noticed a few issues with collisions. There were a few 1x1 spaces that seemed to be tricky to enter (on the ice level as others noted) and I was surprised when I got hit by an enemy in a few cases where I expected it to be a close call. Also, I struggled to scale the viewport to make the game visible on a high DPI display—I had no idea there was a bar for measuring how much flashlight I'd used until I saw someone else comment on it. The art was great, and I thought the level design was pretty good, too. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
This game is fun! once you get good at the main mechanic it feels great to play! love the graphics and the music! :)
First of all, thank you for sharing such a fun game.
The graphics and music perfectly capture the feel of the NES era and filled me with a wonderful sense of nostalgia.
At first, I found the game quite difficult because I wasn't good at using the reverse thrust, but after many attempts I gradually improved and managed to clear all four stages. (After the fourth stage, the game seemed to loop back to the beginning, so I assume that means I reached the ending.) It felt very satisfying!
A few things stood out to me while playing. Of course, these are just my personal thoughts on the game design.
I think the game might feel even more exciting if it had a slightly faster pace. The platforming challenges throughout the stages were enjoyable because they encouraged me to think and practice my movement. However, while the enemies made the screen feel more lively, I didn't feel they added much to the gameplay. In my case, I often found it easier to simply take the damage and keep moving. I think it could be even more interesting if the enemies became meaningful obstacles that required the player to engage with them.
I also felt that the pacing slowed down a little because I often had to stand completely still for several seconds to recover my energy. Perhaps the recovery could be faster while standing still, or there could be another way to keep the flow moving.
Finally, I occasionally experienced some odd interactions with the terrain, such as clipping through the ground or getting caught on edges. There may be a few small issues with the landing or collision detection.
Even with those minor points, I really enjoyed the game overall. It's impressive how much you accomplished in such a short time. Great work, and thanks again for sharing it!
* Took me a hot second to figure out that there was a flashlight meter and that using it all kills you lol. Like Thorrin said though I think it's a scaling issue for me that makes the bar too small. The game is super tiny on my monitor
* I thought the graphics were really nice, the tilesets reminded me of Metroid and the walk animation was cute
* I also like the flashlight mechanic, having a meter that you also use for hovering is rly cool. Killing enemies takes a long time though. But you really gotta take your time and think about what you wanna do I like that
* There is a bug in the collision esp on the ice level, there are a couple spots like this where you can't get through blocks you already destroyed. It doesn't happen every time but often enough you probably will have to start over b/c the only way around it is to hover way up and waste your flashlight bar (see gif)

Overall I thought it was fun and you had some good gameplay variety in there, great job!
Fun game!
Was going to say that the flashlight UI being a different size than the rest of the pixel art took away from the feel, but actually that was a result of weird rescaling due to me zooming in really far on the browser to play it fullscreen.
(not sure if it was supposed to rescale automatically but was very small for me)
Otherwise then, it was pretty solid all the way through!
Did have some issues with platforms moving down not allowing you to jump off of them, and I decided to climb past the exit to see if there was a secret in one of the stages, only for the screen scroll to kill me which...didn't feel great ^^; Would recommend locking the vertical scroll once it reaches the floor tile of the end door to avoid this issue.
The blocks which activate tiles were well made! I like how they have different expressions to indicate that they're starting to run out. Great attention to detail there.
The flashlight mechanics overall were fun, but could have made more use of it. There's a lot of horizontal movement potential you can do with the hover, but the stage design doesn't play into it much. From a combat point of view, I found myself without much reason to engage with enemies, and more incentive to ignore them and use the fuel to hover past. Maybe if you had some faster enemies that more aggressively chase the player, but get stunned by the flashlight, That way they're not so brutal that they can show up and kill you if you're low on battery because you could stun them get some distance while you charge and then finish them off.
Graphics were solid, and being checkpointed at the start of the level made it easy to redo things if needed.
Good game, would like to see it expanded on o/
Thx so much for the feedback! Sorry about the death on the final level, i should have thought of that tbh. And about the expansion: Im rn making a full game out of a dungeon crawler that i made for the previous jam, and i do not see myself getting motivation(or need(except bugfixes)) to expand this one. And btw the aggressive enemies were an idea but i decided to stick with basic pool cuz i was afraid the aggresive enemies will be too difficult
I really like the dual purpose mechanic of the fuel also being health it felt well balanced. There was some ground detection issues on some of the one way platforms like sometimes falling through, and being able jump a second time right after jumping off one. Besides that very NES like, Great job
Great art and visuals, and absolutely nailed the NES feel! Also the floatiest jump ever haha.
Nice game every levels felt unique with each new feature! I liked the regeneration for the character, it felt rewarding to be careful and is quite different of having many life, kudo on the checkpoint too, is easier to go through the whole game! great entry, keep up!
I really like how the jetpack, attack and health are all tied to the same meter; it introduces some really great limitations that the player has to work around and it provides an excellent foundation for a gameplay loop. If I had one critique, it would be that the HUD is difficult to read, and that the jump felt too floaty.
Super neat and fun! I really enjoyed the flashlight mechanic and the color choices.
Me on level one: so intrigued by the flashlight mechanic I forget there’s a jump button.
I really liked this game, its very NES feeling and I love the graphics.
I played through to the end and I think design wise everything fit together great. The art was legible, the music fit the tone, and the mechanic was interesting and had me thinking about my route.
Its already been mentioned but I noted issues with the ice block colliders and sometimes the 1-way colliders will drop you when you walk over them after just landing on another.
Another note I made was the moving platform won’t let you jump properly while it is moving down.
Overall I had fun, the art style and between-level-text kept me interested. Great job!
I like the way the life works in this game with it also being tied to how long you can use the flashlight. I also enjoy you can use the flashlight to hover that save me a couples times. And I enjoy how each stage introduced a new mechanic.
I reached the beginning of the game, and it was fun. The music is very nice, the backgrounds in particular really convey NES aesthetics and I enjoyed playing the game especially as the length of the levels and overall difficulty were how I wanted those to be at the moment, I died a couple of times. The game is arguably a tiny little bit slow and floaty yet on another hand it also means that it controls perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
