Not gonna leave a formal rating cause it's more of a prototype, but it's certainly got style. Screen readability might be a bit of an issue to tackle if you develop this further, cause it can be a bit hard to see what's going on.

Wooooow super good game, the pixelart is beautiful, the mechanics are clever and the effect juicy! NICE work!!!

Note: A real NES running this could be used to weld steel.

This game is really bizarre. Genuinely not sure what's going on but I think I was getting better at it? My NES melted...

Very cool visual effects. I thought the hook mechanic was very clever here, too! Where would you take this from here?

It is very interesting to play, even when I wasnt sure what was going on at moments. I didnt find very useful the hook ability, but I keep using it because... reasons... hahaha, it was fun to do it. You have a good game there

Really unique and interest audio and graphics style

the graphics are literally amazing! I loved the gameplay, punch was kinda hard to get used to, and idfk why we need a hook.  But i got used to it!  NES needs to be buffed to the extreme to run this tho

The graphics looked hella good and the gameplay was a lot of fun even tho tbf i didn't understand how it works exactly but i still had fun nonetheless, the game sadly look too good to be an nes game lmao but there was a lot of polish which added to the game feel, i'd say this game would work better as retro indie game where you destroy monsters with fast paced gameplay (the game lacks a little bit of speed maybe if you make the player and even everyone else move fast it would go crazy), you can try to work on the weapons more to make them have crazy synergies maybe so you can do crazy movement and combos (maybe that already exists but i didn't understand how to use the weapons well enough), so i encourage you to keep improving the game and maybe even make a post jam update since it def has potential

also if you do have a little free time maybe check out my game i'd love to hear your feedback and view on it :)

I really like the graphics, and color palette. Character animation are nice too. I keep stuck in first enemy screen. Good job. One feedback, the vfx have too many sprites and frames to work on NES.

I can't tell what is going on, but it looks cool.

I like the atmosphere.
This would have been cool to have games like that (with more content) back then if the NES was not limited to 8 sprites by scan line.

Developer

thx for checking out my game!

next NES Jam, i think i want to really  try to stay more close NES limitations! I got carried away this time even more than before haha

I played a bit, the best score I got was 11. I like that the game has personality (just like your game from last year) and the gameplay loop is fun, you can always see what you did wrong when you die. Thanks for sharing!
