I have been working on this game for a while, and now a Demo is available on Steam.

The Devlog updates are below!

Updates:

v0.6.7-The pet update! Tame wolves in forest by right-clicking on them while holding meat (rabbit, mutton, penguin, chicken). Tame sand cats in desert by right-clicking on them while holding snake meat or fish. They will attack other animals for you!

v0.6.6-Changed UI to be simpler. Stats to maintain are just health, food, and water now. Coins are now physical items not a number 'money'. UI text menu font changed. Tombstone appears at death location.

v0.6.5-Autotiling wooden and bamboo fences. Five different kinds of meat- Mutton, Chicken, Rabbit, Snake, and Penguin. Bug fixes to duplication of fences.

v0.6.4-New tutorial help menu! Slash effect when mining or fighting. Leaves fall when bush or tree is mined. New animals: Snake in jungle and desert, and chicken in grass land!

v0.6.3-New music. Bug fixes.

v0.6.2-Pixel scaling fixing and bug fixes. New animations for trees and plants.

v0.6.1-Change trees opacity if bear goes behind trees. In-game tutorial.

v0.6.0-Machine Guns and Shotguns work. Gardening mechanic works, plant tomato or carrot seeds on tilled soil (with rake) and harvest (with stonebreaker) when they are grown! Fill watering can with water and water plants to speed up growth. Craft water bottle from bamboo to store water for drinking. Honey slime enemies spawn in cave biome.

v0.5.9.4-Crafting is based on crafting skill level. UI for menu and pause buttons improved.

v0.5.9.3-Drapes (curtains) are craftable (from lavender flowers and wool) and can be placed and mined. Skill progress not being saved fixed.

v0.5.9.2-Smooth scrolling camera that follows Jonas, cliffs and multiple grass tiles in jungle biome.

v0.5.9.1-Performance tweaking, optimisation.

v0.5.9-Updated draggable UI, skill systems to upgrade (crafting, gardening, combat, mining), manage survival stats such as temperature, thirst, and energy.

v0.5.8-Some NPCs can trade with you now. Updated UI for cursor square, and info text on trading items.

v0.5.7.1-New head bob animation for Jonas when he walks.

v0.5.7-Added more NPCS, now there are 7 different kinds of bear NPCs scattered throughout the world.

v0.5.6-Updated new Worlda OST track, daytime. Fixed bow and arrows bug (arrow did not kill animals), fixed object dropping and picking up bug.

v0.5.5-Quieter thunder and lightning flash not as bright. Saplings have a 1/2 chance of being dropped from a tree, and you can plant them to create trees. Updated dropping items mechanic to drop one at a time.

v0.5.4-Minimap that shows terrain based on where you are! Banana issue resolved! (no negative eating) Animation bug where bear is swimming even when on wooden floor on top of water fixed. Paws z-order fixed. Sparks particles when you mine stone. Object sizes when you die fixed.

v0.5.3-All objects in inventory have an info box when hovered.

v0.5.2-Bananas from jungle trees. Bamboo fences to place, right click on them to rotate.

v0.5.1-Create multiple chests and place different items in each. When chest is destroyed items are dropped.  UI improvements to main menu, a new Pause menu (press Escape), settings in the game, touchscreen controls for mobile players! Notification before you delete a world. Peaceful Mode toggle, also drop items when pressing 'Q'. Craftable boat that you can sit (right-click on it) on and row in the water, and mine.

I created this game in Gdevelop. No AI was used in any part of the game making process, and I drew all the pixel-art! Enjoy!
