absolutely love the music, had a thought time trying to get the recipe right. wish we could make skip text typing

That's a really interesting game! I don't know how I feel about the random spawn, it doesnt serve the gameplay, to me it was just frustrating to have to wait to be lucky enough to have the right ingredient spawning ( mostly when some of those needed ingredient spawned out of reach, it's like they were making fun of me xD) Also, the isometric map is a bit awkward to navigate with directional keyboard keys.

An other note I have, the amount of different action key felt unnecessary, and unintuitive, why not just send the dish with the same key used to open the cooking table?

Now on a more positive side, that game has a lot of potential, it's a great take on the limitation of the jam, trying to fix the recipes was a lot of fun and most of the clues where well balanced in that sense! I also liked that with some cooking knowledge you could try to make it right by yourself, it was really satisfying! also liked the music!

Right, this is quite awkward, since we almost have identical game names XD Mine's Granpa and your's grandma lmao. anywho character customization, while it is simple, that is a good point , while it is simple since people rarely make that kind of customization for a short jam that kind of customization actually stands out, well done! For the gameplay I have to say a bit problem on the dialogue box, I think you need to make it a bit faster for the type one or a button to just skip the "typing" animation text. The guide is simple but I found 2 major bugs. One is when we go to the stove and try to cook something, I could simply remove the ingredients from the list needed and I can make the food out of thin air. Second I cannot close the cooking/recipe interface, i've pressed the x button on the right side and even pressed "c" again but it did nothing. Thus i cannot finish the game, I'm sorry but I liked the idea, the simple but warming art and the cute music, great job!

Thank you for the review this is really helpful and I'm excited to check out your entry. I should probably eventually update the game with more close out options but if you want to retry clicking on the gray area outside the cookbook should close it!

Great take on the limitation! Good job :)

loving the idea for the game ;) gameplay was smooth, music was nice to listen to, some ingredients spawned at places i could not reach (behind the stand for example) but overall good game!

I got stuck on the receipt screen and couldn't close it with the "x". Tried everything. Other than that, from what I've seen, fun game, so incredible and ambitious to have a character creator in a jam ahah. Agree that the text size is too slow especially compared to the speed of the walking animation. Fun entry!

Thank you so much for the compliment and I will definitely fix that text speed. If you'd like to keep playing clicking on the gray area outside the cookbook should close it but I'll make this more clear.

The music was super fun! It was also challenging to get the orders right, and it was confusing at first, but I hope I did get some right :) Other than that some items get spawned out of boundary like the mango behind the board and the text was a bit too slow maybe speed it up or add a skip function next time?
