Holy, this might be the hardest sybmission for me at this jam. I only managed to get 1 object in... I just couldnt catch the objects yk? It was still fun experience and really well made plus creative. GGs

Nice submission! I did a little recording of my gameplay in case it helps: Crab Grab by BoneDaddy64, daniyells | Cap Recording

Really cute art style, the music got me in the zone and made collecting all the treasures feel rewarding.

I did find my depth perception was off, having a hover shadow could have helped, but also could have made the game too easy? I also found it very forgiving that I could move forwards and backwards while the claw was returning to the top of the screen, so it was easy to adjust if I needed to.

I needed the stick to win, although the stick did give me negative points 😆

Overall a great submission! Well done

Cute game! probably would be better if the sprites were instead 3d (though i dont think that would be feasible in 3 hours) , cuz depth is a bit of a problem here, but other then that its very good!

A fun idea for a game mechanic with this theme! Great job keeping it under 3hours!

A very effective use of the core loop, which everyone knows, but very nicely implemented!

EDIT: I don’t see one reason why a crab wouldn’t use a rope to lower itself to such reach such treasures.

What a cool little game. Nice simple game play, two tweaks i would add would be some sort of shadow so you can see at what depth(z) you are to pick up the items had a lot of trial and error on some of them, and some screen shake. Well done.

100% agree, I was going to attempt shadow but it was just too little time to get in it. If I update the game that's the first thing going in. Screen shake, fixing the particles and effects would be next
