Good first entry! I think the collisions need some work, but other than that, very good!
Well done for your first jam! Music was kinda a banger, gameplay was simple but very clean executed. For the art I noticed that some assets are blurry that might be caused because you etither set linear instead of nearest in the rendering setting or some resolution issues (Usually fixed by setting strecth mode to canvas item in the project settings). Beside that GG
Congrats on your first game ! It's simple but efficient. Hope to see another game of yours in the future :)
That's awesome on creating your first game! Congratulations 🥳
I did a quick recording of my gameplay in case it helps to watch someone play: Crabber by northcdev | Cap Recording
This is a great game scope for a 3 hour game jam, a simple concept executed well, and a great foundation you could expand on if you wanted to
I think some of the gaps I reckon I could have squeezed through, but was actually too big for 😆 Connecting some of the areas as 'no go zones' could help telegraph the player movement. I also think having the hitboxes slightly smaller than the player and the crabs could be a nice quality of life change, could still be just as challenging and fun with a little more forgiveness.
Overall this is impressive for your first game, and I hope to see you submit some more in the future.
Well done for your first game. Always like some kenny art assets. As mentioned hit boxes a bit to sensitive, bit smaller would have helped. Great work.
Short and sweet entry. Great for a first game.
Few points for next game:
- Collisions for the player need to be slightly smaller as I was getting stuck on gaps that looked passable.
- Full screen button so i can full screen the game. There is a check box on the itch Edit Game page for it.
Other than those 2 points i loved it as a first game 💚 Keep up the hard work and hope to see you next jam.
Thank you for the feedback. Those comments are very helpful. I appreciate the time to give me some quick pointers.
Congratulations on your first game. A simple and fun game. A good good result for 3 hours effort.
Thanks so much.
