Super fun little arcade high score chaser!  Definitely also getting that Flash Game nostalgia, too!  :D

I got 22 turtles on my first try, 35 on the second.

The gameplay loop seems simple at first, but there's more layers to it than I originally expected. You don't have to always destroy every coconut. In fact, sometimes you can't, and you have to quickly prioritize the ones you think will hit a turtle. Due to cooldown, boomerang trajectory and other factors, it's also important to make a mental note of when which coconut spawned, and therefore when each one is going to drop.

The graphics look nice and give me some Flash games nostalgia.

I didn't originally understand how many lives I had, since I didn't see the lives icons until halfway through my second attempt.

With more gameplay depth, this could become an addicting game to kill some time. Maybe different types of falling objects, ways to knock one coconut into another one, the boomerang coming back, so you can plan a double hit from a single throw, etc.

Developer

Thanks for you feedback. I know the issue about live icons but couldn't fit anything different not so good at designe and colors yet. I will think about some updates for the game as this one is my best so far.

25 turtles saved!

Very cute & well designed game.

Managed to save 20 turtles! A small idea well executed! Nothing complicated but games don’t have to be. The wind-up before the throw add a good comedic effect and a little bit of “skill” as you have to learn the delays needed for the spots. Visaully and sound wise nothing to hate here, but please someone teach these turtles to avoid falling things!

Well done!

Tried to teach avoid falling things they said its fine xD

i got to 24 turtles :D just lost cause one coconut spawned in the begining and i decided to ignore it, when it was too close to the ground a turtle spawned there.

I was able to protect 21 turtles. I like how the nuts spawn in faster and faster to increase the difficulty but I feel like when they stack on the same spawn point  it gets a little messy.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep in minde about spawn points next time

I managed to protect 25 turtles!! I really love games like this, the skill-based throwing of the boomerang and growing intensity of coconut spawns were really fun. I love the assets that you chose as well!

Congrats on being the first official submission!  And too funny, a turtle shell was the first thing that came to mind when I settled on the theme of "protect" for the jam, haha — can't wait to check it out!  :D
