Such a beatifully crafted game! Got 114.6 points on my first try. Would love to see if it is good or bad score - maybe a grade at the end of the game would help communicate that? Also I quite didn't understand the white tree so I rather didn't use it to no ruin my score lol. Altough I'm kind of used to game jam games not having music, I would definetely receommend teaming up with a composer on the GWJ discord or in the community tab here on the gamejam page. Very good job Jaime!

~100 is about the average I saw for first time players. Good players could get ~250 each time. My record, using the white tree, which doubles the score if placed upon another white tree, was 1809. The white tree really isn't balanced because it only has synergies with itself. Thanks for the comment!

Fun concept. This could be really nice once more things are added to it. It is pretty straightforawrd although I never used some of the cardss like the ones that destroy all my trees. I get that you need to re-organize but since my deck will run out of cards I am not sure whats the use of re-organizing. Love the handrawn art and the placement of your trees, mixing 2d with 3d. Nice work!

I thought this was really cute and easy to figure out! The tree synergy concept is so unique and fun. I liked the art as game elements soo much! I initially thought your cover art for this page was cute and kindergarten - y (I swear I mean that as such a compliment). I was thrilled to discover that the art in the game matched. The sounds were very nice too - have you thought about adding unique sounds per tree? I think this could be a really cool mindfulness game that my autistic brain would genuinely enjoy playing levels of on my phone when I'm overstimulated.

Cool concept. Miss a bit of inpact when player place a tree. You could also have added a outline for the score so it鈥檚 more visible, even change the overall color because it鈥檚 almost white on white XD. Having at least a retry button in the end would have been better. Kinda sad that nothing happen and couldn鈥檛 even restart a new game without reloading the page.

Simple but addictive gameplay. Great work !

The first thing that caught my attention were the graphics. Even tho they're pretty simple, I absolutely LOVE how it looks like all sprites were drawn in a piece of paper and digitalized before being added to the game, which I'm really curious to know if they are.

Still on the topic of graphics, I missed some game juice and polish when adding trees. For example, you could've added some particles and other effects whenever the player placed a tree that increased their score. That way the game would be a lot more satisfying to play.

Lastly, it was kinda sad to see how literally nothing happens at the end of the game. I really wish there was a screen where I could see my final score (and maybe my best score too?) with a restart button so I could try again.

Anyways, great entry! It got me surprisingly hooked!

I鈥檓 glad you liked the graphics! It is indeed drawn on paper and colored with alcohol markers.
I scanned them with the preview app on my iPhone, sent them to my computer with syncthing, then extracted each sprite using gimp.
This was an improvement on a previous game jam I participated in, and I was really happy with the workflow and result.

I鈥檓 also glad you were hooked. This seems like the type of game that鈥檚 only fun for certain types of people. - mathy with a lot of rules. Saturday evening I was really stressed that I wouldn鈥檛 have any game, because I had done so much bug fixing to get the base game working, and hadn鈥檛 done any art or game juice yet. The main thing I wish I had more time to add was a leaderboard, so that you could compare your score with others.

That would also require more balancing though, as I got 1800 points once by getting a black tree, then 4 whites in a row. I don鈥檛 want it to feel unfair.
Im glad you enjoyed, and your comment makes me feel that the game might really work with some more time spent on it.

I love the aesthetic and cozy feel of the game, would have loved a restart button to get to try again!

I had to rely on the web browser's replay button this time. Maybe in a future release the long anticipated restart button will finally be added.

The visual style is good, but it doesn't really carry the game through. I think a floor texture would have helped a lot. Overall, the mechanics are pretty good, but instead of just scoring points, I think they should have made it so you have to reach a certain number and make winning and losing based on that.

I was going to try to make a leaderboard, but didn't have as much time as I had planned. Thanks for playing.

Very fun cozy game, I loved the hand-drawn art style and the mechanics.

It's curious that you chose a 3D perspective instead of 2D, but I think it gives it a very unique look.

It reminded me of some cozy games I have on Steam, like Dorfromantik 馃槉

Dorfromantik was one of the inspirations. I'm glad you liked the art.
