Thanks for sharing your game on stream! It was lovely to play and see all the cool things the bacteria could do! The changing sprites was lovely to see them all mutating.

Radiation boys were my favourite <3

dw, im just glad you liked it, even if it wasnt your favorite , im just glad you had fun :)

(I close my eyes and see radiation bacteria with masks)

I had a little trouble figuring out how to get started but once it gets going it’s actually pretty addicting! I like that the little guys each have their own look

Fun little idle game! I had soooo many bacteria on sales to keep up with 1 miner/gatherer/processeser. Couldn't really figure out what radiation was doing. Definitely one of the more engaging idle games I've played though!

Developer

Hiiii!! Glad you enjoyed it. When they mutate on their own they get a 3x boost and when you mutate them in the radiation pod, they get a 5x boost!! Will do a proper tutorial and balancing when we do a full version.

I genuinely found myself getting hooked on this for a little bit. I like the mechanic of swiping to the edge of the screen to change rooms, although it fights a bit with having the menu be so far from the center. I'd love to see this get more developed after the jam!

I like the general idea behind this game, having the units able to take on different tasks is a cool way to balance gaining resources~ it's definitely a feature I haven't seen in games I've played so far.  Congrats on submitting your first jam!

Good first entry, it was fun to see the workers specialise at their tasks. I faced the same issues as others regarding scaling and the assignment menu causing the camera to pan to the right, but apart from those issues nothing to add. Keep at it!

Developer(+1)

we have fixed it, but sadly we have to wait until the end of the gamejam to update it, so please know that :)

Very cool idea - it was fun seeing your little workers start to change into different versions, I wasn't quite sure if they added any benefits when they transformed, but it was still cool to see! I think there is a solid base for an idle style game here! Congrats on your first godot game and jam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! The different versions give them a boost in their ability to do their job, the one they gain naturally is a 3x boost and the form from the radiation pod is a 5x boost.

I was able to get it working by zooming in my browser tab. The game was quite fun, I managed to make a few million! I love the art, and the stages of mutation are really nice. Great work :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

thats great :) in the future were hoping to make at least a way to save your game, as we plan on adding a bit more content

I like worker assignment in games, but unfortunately the scaling proved to be a bit of an issue. Keep working at it! Congrats on your first jam!

Developer

yeah we know :(

I manage to assign work without issue and get all mutation i believe. There many point i noted that may help if you plan an update.

  • First, like the other says, the game UI is cutoff on the right and may even be totally offscreen depending of the zoom.
  • The asignement is on the right side but it’s also were we move our camera between room making changing room uppon asigning job.
  • We don’t actually know what all job do from the get go. Mining for exemple i couldn’t figure out. But the other are pretty straightforward so it wasn’t a big issue overall.

Congrats on your first godot game. Web export can be tricky at times, especially when the time is tight like you did with less than a minute before the end XD

I like the art. I kind of found the alien cute, and I was happy to see the new mutation look (i things i saw them all)

Developer

yeah, were planning to add a small tutorial of sorts after the gamejam ends

The browser build does seem to have some issues which is really unfortunate, your description sounds super interesting. If you're able, I'd highly encourage you to open a support ticket on the Discord and see if you can re-submit a working copy, I really wanna see it!

Anyways, congrats on your first Godot game and first Godot Wild Jam entry! Exports are tricky when deadlines are this short, I also had to resubmit due to some issues.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I did create a ticket and now waiting for it to be approved. After the jam is done we will also be making proper updates to the game.

Submitted

That's great to hear, I look forward to seeing it!

I bought the bacteria but can't figure out how to assign it to a job

Developer

okay, so basically you click them and then click the button you want to assign it to (we should've implied that better but we were rushed near the end)

Submitted

I think the issue I have now is I can't find the button. Seems the window is to small on my browser

Developer

Maybe try zooming in, after the gamejam we are gonna release a executable to make it easier, but rn a windowed build is all we could do, thats what my friend recomended after they playtested it after release
