[HamsThor] Would love some feedback. I'll play yours too!

Hey everyone! I just finished my very first game jam, and I flew completely solo for this one.

To be honest, I'm super nervous and a bit embarrassed to share my first-ever creation, but I'd really appreciate it if you could check it out if you have a spare minute!

It's called HamsThor: Spin to Win...ch! — a vertical platformer about a tiny hamster trying to escape his cage.
Fair warning: there is absolutely no auto-aim. You have to manually snipe every single anchor to climb!

I'd love to hear your honest feedback or see your high scores! Thanks a lot! 🙏

Wow, seriously, how many different outcomes/possibilities are there? I couldn't even reach the flag without "die to win"! It was so much fun to play because of all the different gimmicks. The rising water mechanic and the sound design were awesome too!

Submitted

thanks there is 16 modifiers/conditions: 4 win conditions, 6 drawbacks, and 6 modifiers

Nice graphics. A bit difficult on my phone

Awesome game! It's honestly shockingly difficult. I love the level of visual polish on everything, no notes. (my highscore: 982)

I absolutely loved the core concept! It instantly reminded me of the HD-2D style I used to try out in Unreal Engine, which is a vibe I really adore.
I did struggle quite a bit progressing through the levels, and grabbing the coins or timing the switches was honestly really tough for me. But despite the high difficulty, the art, sound design, and the whole 2D/3D slicing mechanic were fantastic.
Awesome job making all of this in just 7 days!

I LOVE the risk/reward dynamic of spinning! If you do want to get a lot of speed you have to start out far away from a hook, but not too far away because you might not even reach them. Also, you might not even want to get that high speed since it's possible to just miss and fling yourself down.

You can technically go far without even using the speed boost and playing it safe, but boosting up is so much fun to get down right. (My highscore: 2515)

Hamster makes it very serious too. 10/10 no notes.

Thanks for playing and leaving such detailed feedback! It means a lot that you appreciated the speed boost mechanics and the "serious" hamster vibe. 2515 is a nice score, congrats! I'm really happy you had fun with it. 10/10 review right here!

It's fun and simple in the best way possible. The fact that you have to aim manually makes it more skill demanding, which honestly makes it better for me. It gives the vibe of Icy Tower and feels very smooth. Very well made!

The concept and mood are amazing! It was such a nail-biter that my hands were literally sweating while playing. I definitely didn't expect 3 rounds, so that was a great! Had so much fun with this one.

Felt very smooth and fun, if you wanna make it more casual you could add a tiny amount of "aim assist" for the grappling points. Good job :D

I really enjoyed your game and played all 10 rounds! The Forge Hammer combined with Double Heavy Attack and an additional Heavy Attack combo is definitely my favorite way to play.

However, I noticed a glitch: when the "100% accuracy for heavy attack" buff was active and I used 2 cards for a Forge Hammer attack, it actually missed. Hopefully this helps you fix it up. Great work on the game!

Such a fresh and unique concept! It was a little difficult for me, but really fun.
I found a bug where it would still grab even if it just clipped the edge of the circle.

Great work on this project!

thanks so much! yeah, I've heard of that bug too, but I don't know why it's happening, so I can't really fix it until I do

Cool game but quite difficult. Luckily, in my game I don’t need that much dexterity XD https://pusheeneiro.itch.io/fortaro

So addictive! I was completely hooked and couldn't put it down until the 100 spins were over. Just one minor thing—it was a bit confusing when I didn't have enough money since the text color didn't change to red to warn me. Still an awesome game though!

Well, well, well... what a interesting concept! It definitely stressed me out quite a bit, but honestly, that’s what made it so good. Awesome!

Well done! Making your first game is definitely the hardest one.

I'll check it out as soon as I have time, but from the name alone I'm very excited.

It was a fun little game! Be proud of your first game! Only feedback I have is the tutorial was a bit wonky and unclear, but overall great!

Would love some feedback on our first rhythm game!
