I'm going to THE ONE PLACE that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism...
SPACE!
Very well done! I love the idea of a tower defense game that you control the tower itself. A little more variety in the events/enemies would make this game perfect, as once I got all plasma lances on my station, the game mostly played itself, but it was SUPER satisfying to get to that point.

Fun game! Got full upgrades and all slots full of best weapons! Thanks for creating this game! Keep making them!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind word! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.

very enjoyable game! it does feel like it caps out at a certain point, the difficulty and need to spin is really only present in the beginning stages of the game, after a certain point it does kind of play itself. i wish there was more of a reason to spin in the later stages of the game. it's a fun game though, well done.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.
And yeah, the balancing of the game was my biggest challenge. I tried a lot of different aproach, stil I couldnt get to a sweet spot. But I keep improving and will cerntanly improve it in the future. Thanks again!

Got 991 score cuz i got distracted and came back to the tab to see the station getting annihilated :D fun and addicting game, good job!

Great game! I love the art and the UI is indeed very clean. I understand the repair might be very handy, but I would appreciate if when you click on an upgrade (buy slot/repair/deconstruct) the action would remain saved until you right click or run out of money. It feels tedious to click back and forth for the same thing multiple times. Not that this is a big inconvenience or anything, just a suggestion that I think would improve things.
Overall, the game  looks very nice and I enjoyed playing it. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback!
And yeah, on the firsts versions the action would stay after they were used. And I can totally see now how that would be better indeed. I'll definetly keep that im mind on the next versions. Thanks again for playing!

Awesome game!! Gameplay was very nice, almost lost track of time!

super cool! the gameplay was really nice and there was a nice amount of different decisions to make -- go into buying new turrets, unlocking things, new slots, etc. what i did end up doing though was just pretty much going all in on offense and never really ran into any challenges with that. the repair was maybe a bit too forgiving and made it really tough to sustain lasting damage. i also felt like i didn't really have to spin at all which kind of rendered thrusters and anything energy related useless (though i stopped playing after awhile with a full ring of the plasma guns so maybe it would have changed later idk). it felt a bit too easy overall but that is understandable being a jam game. i really liked the visuals and in particular the UI was very clean, pleasant to look at, and fit the theme, so great job with that. the background music was nice as well. very impressive!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game, especially the progression, visuals, UI, and music.

I really appreciate the balancing feedback as well. It seems several players found that focusing on offense was the strongest strategy, and I agree that repairs, spinning, and the energy system could have had a bigger impact. Thanks again for playing and for the thoughtful feedback!

The gameplay loop felt very intuitive and good and the progression was really well done! The sound from asteroid waves hurt my ears, but I liked the "space-y" background music :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the gameplay loop, progression, and the background music.

Thanks for pointing out the asteroid wave sound as well. I'll definitely keep that in mind and look into making it less harsh. Thanks again for playing!

This was super fun! I lasted 10 minutes and got a final score of 850. It was a little unclear if the basic turrets destroyed asteroids faster than the plasma cannon and other expensive turrets; I was doing well against the Dreadnoughts, but died to a smattering of asteroid fields. Although maybe I should have bought some of the defense options instead of just the offensive ones lol.

Developer

Thank you so much!

That's great feedback. In the first version the initial turret dealt more damage to asteroids, they were even called Miner. But it was hard to balance and I made all the turrets equal and just make the second and third a better version, to make it simple. But yeah, I'll think a way to make this more clearer. Thanks again for playing and for sharing your experience!

This is a really cool game. Music is great. Upgrades are sick and it plays out really well!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm happy to hear you liked the music, the upgrades, and the overall gameplay.

Loved the game! I played it until the meteors became too much. I think with some more upgrades and phases, it has great potential as a game outside of the jam!

Developer(+1)

I agree that more upgrades and progression would make the experience even better. I had to keep the scope small for the jam, but I'd love to expand on the idea in a future version. Thank you for playing and for the encouraging words!

This is a very cool and exciting game, it lacked upgrades and different weapons, otherwise I would have been stuck for a long time. It would be very convenient to add a small static window with a spaceship and put improvements and treatments there so as not to get into the fields on the rotating model.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.

I agree that more upgrades and weapon variety would make the game more interesting over longer sessions. I also like your idea of having a small static station view for repairs and upgrades. That's a really interesting UI suggestion. Thanks again for playing and for the helpful feedback!

Very well done game, so polished. I think the energy stat is unbalanced; it doesn't make much of a difference in my gameplay. But I loved all the different turrets and updates! And the tension of trying to repair your station while rotating, and getting damage from all sides, it was fun :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.

I agree that the energy mechanic could be better balanced. That was one of the trickiest parts of development, so I really appreciate the feedback. I'm happy you enjoyed the different turrets and even the tension in the game. Thanks again for playing!

This was so cool!! The models were very good too!!! I just think it could teach how to spin, i spend a few minutes without spinning and damaging most of my spaceship, lol!! Great Job anyways!!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game and liked the visuals!

That's a great point about teaching the spinning mechanic better. I'll definitely keep that in mind, as it seems a few players had a similar experience. Thanks again for playing and for the kind words!

Fun concept but yeah as others say I basically never ended up using the spin after I had a few turrets and once I got the laser turrets I had enough money to just fill every slot except for 1 shield and was basically unkillable.

Maybe having a variety of weapons that work on different things coming at you so you need to spin to use the right tool?

Repairs were also basically free so I was just spamming it any time something took a bit of damage and a repair all or hotkey for it would be good if you want repairs to be frequent.

Overall I had a fun time going through all the upgrades and beaming the asteroids and ships was pretty satisfying!

Developer

Yeah, the diffent kind of turrets is a great ideia. It was in my first version, some miner turrets that was good only for asteroids. But not having good weapons  in all slots for the ships made the game too dificult at the time. But I still think it was a good approach. I just need to balance the game a little better and I will be able to add more turrets. Thanks a lot for the feedback, and about the spinning mechanic as well. It will really help me improe the game!

Neat game

I think the balance could use some tweaking. I just bought turret slots and weapons, and upgrades. I never rotated my ship. I got through without ever feeling in danger and got to a "capped out" state of having every slot being a plasma lance + 1 shield + all upgrades. That is when I would hope the game would throw a final boss fight at me and then declare I win, either that or it needs an infinite progression system. It isn't much fun to wait for the enemies to slowly scale up while sitting on thousands of undependable resources. I got to 13:02 my problem isn't that its an infinite survival game (although I do personally prefer finite end goals), just that I capped out and didn't have much to do like 8 minutes before the end.

All that is to say, the game has a lot of cool elements, but I don't feel like they cohesively fit together into a tight experience yet. But good potential with some tuning.

Nonetheless, an impressive game jam entry.
