I like the games from Mike Klubnica and you are spot on with that feel, very nice! ;)

Submitted(+1)

Visually impressive! You captured an interesting vibe that fits this risky gambling lifestyle. I really enjoyed buckshot so I hope this can grow into something similar! Well done!

Submitted(+1)

I like the Buckshot Roulette inspired games, and this is really good one of them. Visuals deserve 5, atmosphere is great and random effects of items make the game even more fun. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

Really good atmosphere in the game, felt creepy, the items are great, none tells you directly whats going to win, and i love that, wish there was more items tho. Great gambling game!

ON THE BRINK OF ADDICTION thanks to your heart system the replay valule is hguge! feels like chance some like skill, its really well balanced and super fun to play!! Well done and so glad you hung out so long in the chat with us, enjoy the rest of the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I really enjoyed the streams and I will for sure join in when you do other jams like GMTK! Please continue spreading positivity in the game dev community, people like your are needed!

Pretty entertaining, I know that this game is based on the Buckshot game, I've never played it tho...
I really liked the Items thingy, that's for me the most interesting part. The "50% chance of saying the winner" 3D model is based of a walkie-talkie I had when i was young, really liked that...

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!
Didn't know that the walkie talkie is actually based on a real on, just found it in one of the many asset packs that I own lma!

Visually the game looks really nice, and the sound effects are great too. The Buckshot Roulette inspiration is obvious, which made me notice a few differences while playing.

I think it's missing a bit of balance. This is probably something other people have already mentioned, but I think it's true, especially when it comes to the pills.

Another thing a lot of people mention is the audio, but I honestly think that's just a "ran out of time" kind of thing, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

The biggest thing I'd personally change is adding more game juice. More screen shake, particles, and little impact effects would make the gameplay feel much more satisfying and dopamine-hitting.

Overall though, I had a really fun time playing it! Great job, and I hope the feedback helps.

Developer

Thanks for the indepth feedback and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

Most of the things that deserve more polish are the things I had do crunch on. For example, I wanted to add screenshake and more visual effect and I had already code for having a sound for the items, but I had to submit it then

Submitted

I will give it another play after jam then!

Polish is through the roof here! Ambiance is good modeling and texture is good its all good, the feedback I have to give is in the design.

Nothing in the design really forced me to take risks/I didnt really feel in control. Red had the most (5 as opposed to 2 or 4) so I simply always bet on red unless one of the items advised me otherwise. I think the problem is that the game doesnt give enough choices to the player at a given time, maybe it will be more fun if I let the items pile up and guarantee myself  a big success. Ill go try that rn. I am back and it made it more fun but only because it was marginally successful.

My main thing though is that making the statistically correct choice is not an interesting decision and the problem is that I feel like I know the correct choice each time whereas in buckshot roulette theres enough known and unknown to make an informed but not bulletproof plan/risk. Here I just feel like its all up to luck.

Also you may be pleased to know I got 96$ my first run and 12$ my second

Developer

First of all, thank you for your honesty. Jams are only really valuable to me if I get genuine feedback, and thanks to people like you, I'm able to learn and improve.

I agree with all of your points, and honestly, I think most of them can be fixed without too much trouble. I think the biggest issue is exactly what you mentioned: the player has too much information available, so in the end, choosing red becomes the safest and most likely option. I tried to counter that with multipliers and items, but I don't think I pushed those mechanics far enough to really solve the problem.

This one was pretty cool - the aesthetics were on point, and gave me that same grungy feel stuff like Buckshot Roulette gives. I could see this making a really good lil' game experience like that, and the core loop is fairly solid. I feel like it could be refined even further by having a "turn based" mechanic - some kind of adversary you have to beat, maybe, instead of just "number go up". It's where games like that excel - you're fighting for a goal, risking it all against a threat or adversary, and it adds to the stakes.

Sound design was minimal, but I felt like that added to the stress. The only thing maybe would be tweaking the flow and speed of camera movements when heading to the score/heart menu, to really make gameplay feel quick and snappy.

This game has some good foundation, and you could definitely make something good from here.

Developer(+1)

Thank you sooo much for the honest feedback!

Originally my goal was for the roulette wheel to be the enemy, but due to lacking time I had to scrap that idea and just go with ''number go up''.

Also yeah, the camera movement is something that still bugs me and should have improved. I myself always got inpatient due to it and instead of fixing it I just sped up the game speed xD

For a game made in seven days, it's got potential. Those little things are nitpicks - it shows that you can easily smooth off those rough edges and come out with something cool and repeat-playable.

Sick game, loved the vibe and the visuals and when the music started to rise I was really feeling the tension. Did you make the music yourself cause it was really well done. Overall really fun game and I could easily see this being developed further with upgrades or other mechanics. Great submission all around

Developer(+1)

Glad that you enjoyed it! The music is not mine and is free cc0 music from the sound library. I gave the links to them in the credits

Cool title screen, and just cool visuals in general. Love the core mechanic. It's simple and easy to understand right away. Would love for this to be expanded upon.

Developer

Thanks!

Spooky vibes are good. The phone powerup was _really_ unimpactful, every time I used it I was told there was a 50% chance of red ... which I'm pretty sure is the base odds just based on math anyway. Pills, on the other hand were by far the best powerup

I got a score of 300000 by grabbing pills whenever they were offered and going green most of the time.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I am aware how OP the pills are and whenever I was playing  it was my default choice (bad gamedesign lmao). I will try to fix this in the post jam version

Love those creepy eyes.

Very clean and polished.  Really liked how the power ups stack and work well in combination.

Really fun, great vibe. Love the camera movements and SFX for the money really adds to atmosphere. Highly polished, looks and plays great. Awesome job.

Submitted(+1)

did you cut out mike klubnika's eyes to add them to the game?

What a fun and polished game, I had a great time with this one! It gave off Buckshot Roulette vibes but is still unique enough to be its own game. I got $50k as my high score after trying a few times. Visuals and audio are great and gameplay is super fun. Great work!

Submitted(+1)

Great atmosphere!  Sound design and visuals both are great.  Nails the Buckshot Roulette style.  I ended up getting ~$12k on my first run and had fun with it.  One thing I encountered was that oftentimes my items would auto-use themselves as soon as I chose them, but other times they wouldn't.  Not sure if this is a quirk of the web build, but figured it was worth mentioning.

All-in-all, a really cool game with amazing vibes.  Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, and congrats to your 12k!
I know about that bug and I wanted to fix, but nothing seemed to help :/

Took a screenshot because I wasn't sure if our scores would save haha. (EDIT: Screenshot prevents me from posting comment? I'll try to follow it up in the replies.)

What a phenomenal game! Brilliantly executed! One of my favorites so far. I've only played once, but considering I've played games with similar scoring mechanics (like Bank), I feel like this is a high amount of money earned.

You absolutely blew me away with the production value. I saw you posting in the general chat and remembered the little roulette wheel with the eyes. Just phenomenal all around.

My only complaint is that the text that revealed things went a little too slow. I always felt antsy to close it and move on with the game haha.

Just excellent. I'm sharing this with others.

I'm heartbroken that I can't upload the screenshot normally. But I got $786,432 when I ended. https://imgur.com/a/x9VM1yA

Developer

Omg, thank you so much for the feedback! It honestly made my day. I'm really happy you enjoyed playing the game and would recommend it to others!

And yeah, I totally get what you mean about the reveals, dialogue, and camera movement feeling a bit too slow. That's definitely something I'll be polishing up after the jam. :)

Submitted(+1)

Great atmosphere and graphics. Some stutter on each new scene on the web, maybe shader compilation?

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I also experienced those lags when playing on web, which is why I recommend windows. The shaders are probably the culprit and I will try to compile them in the post jam version :/

Submitted(+1)

Great game, I love the style. Nice concept, the upgrades are cool. Really great submission!
