Fun little game. It feels nice to catch multiple fish at once. I sort of wish the player’s whirlpool dragged fish a little harder, as for a lot of the later fish you need to spawn it with the fish almost directly in the center. The addition of an enemy Whirlfish was also really cool, it was legit awesome to run into it. The attack patterns it makes are great.

It's a very cute game but I think the audio and visuals are holding it back. More polished pixel art would make a great improvement, and despite the background music which was nice, the whirlpool sfx became annoying very quickly. Plus a web build could get it more exposure.

Overall a cute idea that needs some polish

It fits the jam’s theme well, but I think the visuals could be a bit more appealing. The assets used could stand out more; the black shading makes them blend into the environment rather than helping them stand out. I think using white shading instead, or removing the shading altogether and making the colors more vibrant, would have looked better.

Aside from that, I gave it a 1 for seriousness because it doesn’t comply with the rule requiring the game to be submitted in HTML.

First of all, thanks for playing!

I was a bit confused by the seriousness rating, though. I thought the jam rules said:  "your game must run on web or windows with nothing but a keyboard or mouse with no extra software. games that require additional software/login will not be streamed or considered for my top picks". I thought my submission of a Windows build complied with the requirements. Did I miss another rule?

As for the assets, thanks for the feedback! I'm primarily a programmer, so art is definitely an area for improvement.
