cta 😺👍👍
Very cute game, feels like I'm playing with a bunch of cats! I wasn't sure if the stages were endless? I got to 11 cookies on one of them. I do with there was some kind of counter or progress indicator to help me know how close I was to finishing a stage or just keep track of how many I've collected.
There is a timer in the top left right underneath your yarn meter that tells you how much time is left in the level. All levels are two minutes, except for the one that's called Endless obviously. Did you maybe not play in fullscreen mode? Because itch has trouble properly displaying everything without it, you will only see part of the screen
A good game, as others noted I would probably make the cats a little bigger, and other than that maybe a better view of the map to be able to know where I can refill my thread, but that could just be a skill issue honestly. It could also be stronger on the theme, or at least more obviously connected to spinning.
Honestly I didn't even consider a minimap to show where items are, that's definitely worth a thought, thanks for the idea! The cats' sizes have already been an issue on my mind.
The theme definitely could be a bit stronger, but you're a rolling ball and you have to spin to dodge the white cats and I just didn't have time to add more things like some spinning "hazards" on the ground, or I thought about a "hamster wheel" of sorts that ejects items after spinning it for a few seconds. But yeah, didn't work with the time.
A really great game that I could easily get lost in. The pixel art and music go together really well. Maybe I would have preferred the cats to be bigger so they’d be easier to spot.
Well done!
The cats being bigger actually pas a thing we were talking about but it simply didn't make it due to time. If I remake this game properly, and I think there is a decent chance, that will definitely be a thing I do. Glad to hear you were having fun!
Really liked the style and theme :3
The gameplay is engaging and fun, nothing to add here except the "spinning" part as a mechanic itself could have been a tad more taken into account.. the movement was very crisp so i forgot that im a spinning ball sometimes maybe through more velocity.. that would be only a little tweak on a very polished game, amazing job!
The spinning is mostly present in the only consistent way to dodge the white cats, cause you have to do some spinning around to avoid them, but yes, there could be some additional spinning here and there. Thanks for playing!
Really fun game. I can see myself getting addicted to it.
If you knew how long I sat in endless mode after I added it...
I died by eating cookies? I thought i was supposed to eat cookies. sad. Audio 10/5 holy. Loved the yarn ball visual too
Are you sure you didn't run out of yarn or accidentally missed a cat? 'Cause you're definitely not supposed to die to the cookies, that would be a bug
very cute aesthetic, got mauled by cats, 10/10
I love the movement of the cats and how scared I felt spinning away for dear life. I love the variety of pickups that helped my escape to safety, mostly the fish and the speeders. Great game!
I'm really glad people like the fish. It was the second last addition besides the final menu screen and it could probably be a little more effective, but I'm glad you had fun :D uhm I mean, glad you made it alive, this is serious after all
Very solid game that I don't really have much to say about. The movement is good, and the rhythm you get into dodging the different kinds of cats until you can break away is almost trance-like. There's a good diversity of power-ups that always keeps you eager for the next one to appear, and there's clearly been thought put into the design with regards to the level design/ordering, tutorialization and onboarding in general. Besides that, the music and visuals get the job done, the UI is clean, and besides the web canvas being a bit small outside of fullscreen, no bugs. Good job!
Loved it. Was a nice time to wind down! :3
Very cute! I love the visual of the yarn trail and the music is pretty fun.
Thanks for playing!
really enjoyed it! visuals could have improvement, it was a bit hard to immediately understand what some of the objects were, i got it was a cookie only once it started appearing on UI😅 but still very pleasing and cute! i immediately tried to roll at the cat once i saw it, at then it chased me 😭😭 but overall, really fun!
When the game doesn't let you pet the cat u_u
Yeah the graphics are low resolution but at least that made them easier to work with xD I mostly put a lot of time into the title screen when the game was already finished, but I wanted to focus on programming and learning Unity with this one so I'm glad I didn't have to animate high resolution cats lol. Definitely something I would change if I were to remake this game
oh yeah, i get it! was great to play it still! :)
Enjoyment - 5/5, no notes
Theme - Not so much about spinning as it is rolling, but I'll assume the yarn was made in a spinning wheel, and give 4/5
Visuals - Cute!! 4/5
Audio - meow. meow/5 (that's a 5)
Seriousness - meh. 3/5
EDIT: Upon further review, visuals are a purrfect 5/5.
The theme is actually also hidden in the (intended) way to dodge the white cats, you can do some spinning around with it. Glad you enjoyed it that much though!
Ohh, I see now lol. I still give it 4/5, but still. Great work, I can see you put the effort in!
Really cute! Movement felt very good. The difference in cat behavior was a great choice too.
really nice game, cute and simple, the movement was pretty smooth and the art is funny, enjoyed it!
Thanks for playing!
everything about this game is so perfect!!!! The audio, the subtle jokes, the art, the concept!!! Really enjoyed playing it!
I'm glad you liked it! I appreciate someone liking the lil' jokes
It was so exciting to see the kitties at first and then realizing that they were out to end you with their crazy speed was terrifying LOL Once I figured out how to quickly change directions to evade the cats though, it felt pretty badass as I was getting them cookies. I managed to survive and got 15 complete cookies! Very cute and fun. Great teamwork, y'all!
You gathered 15 whole cookies! I'm impressed.
Very cute and nice game. I loved the ideia, the art. And the sound was very cat vibes like, wich was amazing. Well done!
You have Kishan02 to thank for that, he made the music and had the brilliant idea to use Meow Synth for the melody. Couldn't have worked better xD
Such a fun experience! I loved almost everything about this game, from the little touch of the music swapping while sped up, to the cuteness of the music.
Really well done with this! :)
You are probably the first person to actively notice the music swaps ToT I had so many people playtest and none of them could point that out...
There's also a change when some conditions are met that make the music a bit more intense, usually when a white cat speeds up, but I'm just glad anyone noticed that detail at all xD
whilst i was playing i heard the music swap for a sec and I was like "dynamic music?!?!" and then when it happened a second time i was almost certain of it lol
great work with this once again!
