this is fun

Developer

Thanks!

I like this game twist and shout

Unique spin ideas. Nice game but pretty hard because of some platforms hit boxes not matching the art. Great art and duck animations though. I liked the music also.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We will fix hitboxes. We are glad you enjoyed our art.

Nice physics on the platforming and momentum. Felt is was a bit too hard just when it was starting to get interesting with the left-click mechanic. Overall, a fun vibe!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! <3

I like the idea, thought it was really cute! Would love something to help indicate more or less where you will land.

Developer

Thanks for playing and giving feedback!

Do you think a shadow pointing to the floor height would fulfill the purpose? That's what we thought for the next update.

Submitted(+1)

It could. Tbh, this was really just an issue when jumping from the disks. Jumping on the spirals was alright.

cool game that got kind of frustrating when i kept randomly dying for seemingly no reason. sometimes when i would land on a spinner the bird would die? cool game though, i like the idea.

Developer

Jaja! Yeah... we will definetely fix that, I also got frustrated during playtesting, but time limitations were severe.

Thanks for playing!

I enjoyed testing your game! It was a little confusing on the direction, but I really loved the music and overall charm of the game. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! We'll try to make a clearer path to the spinning win.

Developer

Special thanks to Mimi, who assisted with the code early on and let the project move forward and not get stuck. <3

Very creative! Love the music and visual!

I wish there was a more clear visual cue or direction on where I'm suppose to be going. Maybe could even start the level showing where the end point is, then slowly fly through the level until reaching the player starting point (almost like a little preview of the level.)

Overall, I had a great time!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Showcasing the level like in Mario kart 8 was cut during production due to lack of time. We'll work on it!

Genuinely fantastic interpretation of the theme to make a pretty unique platformer with multiple novel and interesting mechanics. Also really enjoyed the music and art direction. I found the actual gameplay a bit difficult, maybe partially due to the controls which sometimes require left and right hand doing different things, but I think this can be ironed out and streamlined with a bit more dev time. Overall I really really like this game and would love to see it fleshed out further!

Thanks! After the game jam, it will be polished gameplay-wise, maybe adding a better tutorial path to teach slowly the hard to control mechanics.

I reeeaally liked the rotation -> jump physics in this game!! It feels like it allowed for a lot of skill expression, so that you can kinda speedrun some sections and skip some steps on replays. I took the lower path in the start with all the LPs and cogwheels, and I tried it soooo many times until I realized you were just supposed to stand still on the edge hahah, I thought it looked very satisfying when I figured it out!

That you can apply more/less rotation on most spinny things is super cool too, but I kinda wish that there was a little bit more control mid-air, or at least less precise platforming at some parts, especially the parts with the white plates. Having unlimited speed buildup is cool, but I think that limiting the spinning speed to the "required" speed to jump to the next platform would decrease randomness of jumps, and in turn, create less frustration :b

I think you summed up how I feel really well.

Plus I did the exact same on that bottom path lol! I love a game with a goobly lil guy :3

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to design the level to make it interesting with the few assets we had, I'm glad I caught someone with the saws in the conveyor belt ;).

We tried to give as much control to the player as we could, so we added to cancel the jump pressing space mid-air, but it's hard to understand and not explained within the game.

We'll polish all those aspects, I'm looking forward to see how speedrunners would play the game.

Omg this game is so lovely, cute and well made! :D

I love the art style, the sound design and the little buddy u are playing.

Cool idea to make a platformer like this out of the theme.

It's pretty challenging at some parts, especially the parts where u hardly can see in wich direction u have to jump, but that is just some balancing thing :)

Yea, just.. really great work on that one <3

Thanks! <3 We put so much love into music and graphics vtl and I. We worked hard during the brainstorm to fit the main theme as much as we could. I'm sad we had a third friend who was going to help with SFX but couldn't in the end, so wet had to add it last minute.

Stay tuned to see when we continue working on it.

Ah, I wanted so much to enjoy this game! It started with many “wow” effects. The core mechanics, the different jump you get when you are on the center, the clever use of assets, the invitation to spin directly with the mouse… The game really surprised me with its creativity, and all those idea are brilliant!

But soon enough, the platforming got really finicky. I spent a lot of time stuck at the same point because the physics is hard to control, and the hitbox for falling is extremely sensitive. No matter how hard I try to understand the system and find a reproducible technique, every leap I took was based on luck. I never really control the direction of the jump, the length, when I will touch ground, if I’m too close to an edge… There are too many factors for allowing precise platforming. And unfortunately the platforms are small and far from each other.

I can’t even say that I got really far, despite trying too. I arrived at a point were there seem to be diverging paths, but despite many efforts, I couldn’t get past any of them. I think it’s a lovely game, with a neat attention to details and a really clever and interesting mechanics. But, what can I say, it’s too hard!^^’

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We tried so hard to make it a simple platformer, but we soon realised we were making a rage game. Despite the amount of checkpoints I'm not satisfied with the precise platforming. The next step to make it less frustrating was adding a shadow showcasing the point you would land. I think that could reduce randomness in the spinners.

I'm happy it gave you great impressions, and even happier you tried the game, don't worry you couldn't finish it,  thanks for playing. <3

I think that the spin the plate to gain momentum for your jump is a great mechanic, nice!

Developer

Thanks!

This is such a cool mechanic for a 2D platformer! Converting the rotational momentum into a big launch is chaotic but also satisfying.

Developer

Taking into account the mechanical part was the thick of the game that's a big thing to say,  thanks!
