Fun game!  Love the art and music and whole presentation of the affiar. I'm still not sure I quite understand how the mouse spin thing works, but I  had a good time while playing!

Amazing quality in the game. The story writing was genuinely engaging, and the music was phenomenal. One small critique for the game is that there's enough feedback on the spinning and leaning mechanics to feel like they have any real affect on the Uroji's. It feels kind of like the player has no influence.

I adore the idea of crafting your own uroji piece by piece like an actual beyblade !

I think the game would really benefit from visual indicators of how exactly my actions are affecting the uroji itself, and not just the character sprite bouncing and spinning around. Or even just increasing the amount of influence we have on the uroji ! The chaos and action, while cool and sick, makes it feel like I have little to no influence on how the uroji behaves - especially on arenas that are really tightly packed.

That said, it would be incredibly cool to see the idea explored further!

Thank you for the feedback! I think you hit the nail on the head. We were worried too much control would be too unbalanced, or ruin some of the spirit of the strategy coming from building your top, but instead we had the issue of it feeling unimpactful for many people outside the dev team. And with the game jam time limit we didn't have time to playtest. I'm glad you still enjoyed the experience overall.

Some insanely great presentation you all had on this game! I'm impressed by how much the team was able to make with such a short time frame. Everything art and audio wise was top notch however I feel the gameplay was a bit confusing to get a grip on. Spinning with the mouse was awkward and it wasn't clear if I was doing things correctly in terms of hitting the opponent. The tutorial / intro was a nice addition however. I believe if you work on this some more, especially gameplay wise, this could be a rather fun game!

Really well made game! The intro could have been a bit shorter. I loved the shop mechanic. The only thing that didn't feel rewarding was the mouse spin mechanic. You should definitely keep working on this because it is a blast to play:)

This is a really well-made game! I like the visuals and sound design as well as the concept. However, I'm not the type of person who would enjoy this type of game as I don't often play games of this genre and struggled to get used to the controls. It's still a great spin on the theme and a great game!

The whole art design and everything was epic, and the music was banging. But the gameplay was sorely lacking, i struggled for 5 minutes on my first fight simply because we would just both heal up, even if I was trying to spin or lean to a side. Also spinning around on linux, makes my mouse cover the whole screen, which isn't preferable.

Great idea that I couldn't get a hang of. I wish I could though.

Overall: Really impressive progress for a game jam!

Pros:

  • Super cute art style!
  • Unique spinning top combat mechanics.

Neutral:

  • The lore was okay (perfectly fine for a jam game).

Cons:

  • The gameplay was incredibly frustrating for me. However, this might just be my own skill level, or it might just be the intended chaotic nature of spinning top physics!

Great job to the devs!

Thank you for the feedback! It definitely was not just you, the UROji should be chaotic, but I was noticing the speed on the web build could get too excessive, and in rare circumstances UROji could clip out of the map. This should be fixed now.

Impressive what you built here in just one week,  and on top of that, coordinating so many people. Really great achievement.

Personally, I think it could have used a bit less story. Especially when judging a game jam, you don’t have much time and would rather jump quickly into a match and try things out. For me, it would have been nicer to start with an opposing spinner that you can simply push around, letting you learn the controls and experiment for yourself. After that, the story could be introduced bit by bit.

But that’s just the cherry on top. In the end, top graphic, top sound, top spinning.

The quality you managed in the limit is amazing!

Good story, good gameplay, amazing art, systems?!
