I like the simple and arcade theme, but i like the core mechanic and idea more!. Nice game.
Pls Playe my game guys it needs more rating, :(
Thank you so much!
Cool arcade style game! The slot machine setting and rotating terrain mechanic are a really interesting use of the theme. I also like the visuals and the fact that you can shoot freely without worrying about ammo. Once I understood how the spinning slots worked, the game became a lot more interesting. Nice work!
Thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you enjoued!
This was a fun, easy-to-play game! Movement and shooting felt nice, the visuals were distinct and memorable (reminds me of Geometry Wars), and I quite liked the rotating map. I didn't realize at first that standing on a rotating piece rotated you as well; visually it looks like all of the other pieces are rotating the opposite direction, so I thought my being on a piece just cancelled the rotation lol. I think it could maybe read better if the camera lagged just sliiightly behind the player as they rotated. I also kept losing a ton of health at once by getting stuck in a swarm of enemies; I wish I could more easily jump through/away from them during my invincibility frames. But overall, very solid jam game!
I’m so glad you enjoyed and liked my spin on the theme! Yeah, I agree that the player knockback is a bit janky and there isn’t enough indication about what is actually happening when the player is in a slot when it rotates. The player movement script made the former hard to implement though if I had more time to work on the game, I would’ve sorted it out as well as a bunch of other QOL things (including the latter).
That was fun! The rotating terrain mechanic is interesting, and it’s great being able to fire away without worrying about ammo limits or reloading. I also really liked how the title screen spins!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed!
Well polished great game. How many dimensions would this be considered as? it was fun to realize the turned ones are still there in another angle
The game technically has a 2D world within a 3D world, so I'd say it's a combination of the two (the game has 2 worlds in Godot - one is 3D and the other is 2D). There is a lot of SubViewport magic happening in this game to make the main mechanic work. I'm glad you enjoyed the game and found it interesting!
Great visuals and theme. I was initially avoiding the spinning slots cus I thought that would kill you but once I figured out you could use them to get to the gems it got a lot more interesting.
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I feel like I underdid the How to Play section (an improvement from my last game jam submission, but I'm still not there yet) as this game has a lot of mechanical depth that it fails to explain. This includes:
- You can stand in a slot when it spins to move in its direction
- The color of a slot's countdown (red or green) determines the direction in which it will spin
- Gems heal you 30 health in addition to the 30 points they give
- The type of enemy that spawns is determined by color of the slot side is spawns on
- Different enemy types have different stats
as well as a bunch of other minor details.
Cool idea and interesting visuals!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed!
Love the unique visuals and sound effects :)
Got a highscore of 129 ^^
Somehow I never managed to spin correctly got get to an emerald...
Thank you for playing my game and I'm glad you enjoyed!
In my initial idea for this game, you'd only score by collecting the gems, but I found that scoring was too hard and random if that was the only way to score, so I made killing enemies give points to spice up the game and make it more interesting.
By the way, you should try standing in a slot when it spins - it will spin all other slots relative to its spin direction, which is useful for navigating the map.
