Loved the retro vibes, it feels like an old arcade game! Doing backflips to fill the meter is super fun, despite the quirky animation glitches. Incredibly impressive!

Developer

Thanks for playing :)

I'm working on the full version in my spare time and the first thing fixed was the animations.

Cute game, like the artstyle!

the flip animaton kept breaking forf some reason

Developer

Thanks for playing. :)

I'm working on a full version of the game and first thing I've done is fix the animation bugs. Pico 8 animations are a bit quirky.

Super fun game! loved doing the flips

Developer

Thank you for playing :)

I'm working on a more fleshed out version currently so if you enjoyed the prototype, keep an eye out for the full version.

pico-8 lets goo! really cute small game, love back flip animation, noticed when you spam - animation will glitch a bit. great game! Hope you will play and rate my game also<3

Hey! Thanks for playing.  :)

Yeah, pico 8 animation and I do not get on well . . .

I just started working on the full game inspired by this prototype and have fixed the animation bugging out by changing how the timing is done and adding a cool down for actions to prevent spamming.  Also polished up the animations by correcting minor art errors and adding extra frames of animations.  It's gonna take a while but it's looking so good already!

Will definitely check your game out!

Thanks :)

I just took a look at yours and while I can't play it at this moment, I'm looking forward to trying it out.

For a game made in pico-8 in under a day, I'm impressed. The art is very cute too. The only problem I noticed was that the player animations sometimes glitch.

Overall nice work!

Developer

Thanks :)

Yeah, I've since learned how to do pico8 animations in a way that prevents the glitching sprite animations. In pico 8, animations are notoriously quirky. Sadly not in time to update for the jam but I really like the concept of this game and want to work on a more fleshed out version when I get the time.

I tried running your game but couldn't get it to load. It's an issue with my hardware not your software. I'll be sure to check it out when I get back to my PC :)

Pretty fun game actually! reminds me of old arcades.
Im not sure if the flip mechanic is really considered "spinning" but i see the sense behind it

overall a solid game while its simplicity gives it charm i still found it a little bland (although if you made this in 2 days i really can't blame you T-T)

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Yeah, I made it in one 16 hour stint lol. Thinking of making a more fleshed out version that would have more variety because I agree it's pretty repetitive as is.

I think it’s a really well-balanced game. It’s interesting that the protagonist can perform a flip—a high-risk, high-reward move that makes it easier to fill the meter but also makes them more vulnerable to taking damage!
