i liked the idea, and really great art, i just struggled to adjust to the difference in difficulty between levels 1 and 2
yeah the diference is level was due to running out of time, so we couldnt make more levels, and level 1 and 2 were made by two diferent people so we didnt knew how hard the other was making the level
I like the unique take you have on racing by using the scroll wheel. It not only fits the theme, but it also added an extra layer of challenge that was a bit too difficult at times but a bit fun in terms of trying to get used to. Good job!
thank you so much, im glad you enjoyed it
Really loved the pixel art here and the synth track combined with the feeling of speed make for a really sick vibe. I felt like there was a really big jump in difficulty between the 1st and 2nd level though. I wished you died and respawned when you fell instead of being slowed down. Or at least had a hotkey to restart, it would've made it less tedious to beat.
Hey, this was pretty cool. Getting stuck at the bottom is no fun, but once you get the hang of it its not to difficult. would have loved to have some npcs to race against though. Good job on the character/vehicle design.
thank you so much for the feedback, we made AI racers, but due to the lack of time they were getting stuck on niche obstacles or were to dumb to complete the course so we decided to not put them on the second level. As for the art, our artist sure did a good job, i could never come up with the bike design he did
The art style and all the sounds are really great and work well with the gameplay. Could have been great to have some check point at the middle of the level. I was stuck at the 2/3 of the level and having to do the start again and again is a bit tedious. But beside that i really like the gameplay and i appreciate finding a bit of difficulty in a game jam game, it's refreshing.
thanks a lot for your feedbkack, im glad you enjoyed the game, one of us was trying to make a checkpoint system but we unfortunaly were running out of time so we had to cut some stuff
Very enjoyable game ! unique theme !
thanks bro, i had a lot of fun working on this game, im happy you had fun playing it
Sick vibes! I really like the concept. I think the jump in difficult from the introduction lvl to the second is a bit much though with having to basically start over if you fall down. I found it a bit frustrating to have to click respawn to to keep the momentum going again since once you do start going fast, it feels really great. Level design wise, instead of the slowing surface that you fall down to, I think just a pit off screen that restarts for you automatically would help keep that momentum to keep playing. The introduction level was very enjoyable. Overall, nice teamwork!
hi! thanks for the feedback. I'm the guy who made the second level and i wanted to add respawn, but i ran into bugs and didn't have time for it. Glad you enjoyed the first level tho!
This is such a cool and unique control scheme! When I got fast, it was super fun, so much so that I got really sad bumping into walls since I lost all my momentum. I also really like the colors in the art :)
thanks for your reply, we tried to capitalize on the speed in some parts, but looking back i think we made to manny forced stops, after all is a race game, you dont wanna stop during a race
Was a bit tough to get going but man did it feel good when you got to top speed! I loved the art style. I think if it was somehow zoomed out a bit more so you could see what was coming next it would help the player keep their momentum. I ran into A LOT of walls that really killed my momentum. I wanna keep going fast!
thanks for your feedback, yeah looking back, the zoom was kinda low wew definitly should have increased it, either way im happy you enjoyed the game
Fun concept and neat usage of the mouse wheel!
thanks bro, we had fun making this, im glad you had fun playing it
Love the dithering on the background and the textures... First level was fun but a bit diabolical, with how many times you could fall and have to restart. I kept failing that fast jump, so took me a bunch of tries... Love the vibes on this!
thanks a lot for your comment, we were trying to make a checkpoint system, but we run out of time so we had to scratch it, which unfortunately ended up making the 1 level worst, im happy you enjoyed it
Great idea and visuals! The tutorial level was fun -- the 1st level was frustrating just because if you fall you gotta skip to the end, or restart (which I did many times). I think the bounce that happens when you land could be less, so you have more control over jumping. Personally I'd like the wheel to feel heavier and less floaty. I would totally play more of this game!
hey thanks for the feedback, the game sure could be a lot more smooth, the 1 level was suposed to have checkpoints, but we ran out of time, as for the art, our artist was great he definitly did a great job
The pixel art looks really nice; I just didn't like the speed—I found it too fast, and it could have been a bit more moderate.
yeah well you can technically change the speed, but at least my level (the second one) was kinda made for max speed so sorry for that i guess. As for the art we had a very good artist on our team
Fun idea! Keep on going! Would love to reach a checkpoint
Hi, im glad you enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun making this level, as for the checkpoint, yeah it was on our to-do list, but the time didnt allowed us to finish it
Really neat game! Using the scroll wheel for controls feels a bit off and it's basically impossible to read the level ahead of time, but once you know how to go fast, you go *fast*
Music and graphics are also really nice
yeah i know, we probably should have offseted the player to the left more that could have helped, but thanks for playing the game!
