Fun game, and I love the art it's very cute! It was actually a lot harder than I was expecting due to not being able to control how high you jump. I also kept accidentally double jumping by holding down space. I also liked some of the variation you added, like the fans and the erasers. Didn't make it very far, but I can see some pretty challenging gameplay possibilities!
Really fun! A simple concept, but executed well.
The main character is just floaty enough to make movement tricky, but it feels good once you've gotten it down. I also like the randomized levels. Some of the obstacles require really precise movement, and some are a nice break from that tension; it all works well.
The art style is nice. Again, simple but well-executed. Everything feels cohesive.
I like how quickly things restart after a death, which makes it really easy for this to fall into the "one more run" kind of trap. Addictive core loop.
All-in-all, I quite enjoyed my time with this. Great job!
reminds me of flappy bird... so simple but alot of fun!! rly like the artstyle aswell :)
I thought sometimes it was a bit hard so I couldnt get that far but maybe its because I suck
Yeah, nice game,i like the art and concept(I saw another game like this but this one is better). The issuse is that it is too hard, the map must be bigger so spike are harder to touch
Fun idea, nice art, and cool that you made random levels. The game is quite hard tho, would be nice to get an extra life or 2!
Loved the visuals and the artistic theme! The lil player is so cute and Juniper's hat XD adorable! The gameplay is a bit difficult for someone like me who isn't great at platformers to being with but also with the layout changing each time. With the diagonal movement I felt it wasn't super responsive or easily controllable but that could also be skill issue on my part. It could be a cool idea if it ramped up in obstacle difficulty over time rather than what seemed to be random generation on each restart, but overall this is such a creative idea and well executed!
Fun little game! I especially like the way the controls were communicated in the tutorial. But there is one thing that made me step away pretty fast, and it’s that the difficulty curve is way too high—and it's not just that each obstacle is too difficult.
In other games, they typically do this neat little trick where they give you a really hard obstacle that you fail on several times (which is totally okay), but once you get the hang of it, they put several easy ones right after. This trick makes the game feel less like walking up an uphill slope and more like a roller coaster, where you have moments of high difficulty followed by moments of entertainment and relief.
In CAPS OFF, I found that this pacing wasn't present enough. For example, obstacle one was easy, obstacle two was hard and I'd fail on it, but then obstacles 3 and 4 were immediately more hard ones. If the game simply had more breathing room with easier obstacles placed in-between the difficult ones, the player would feel a much greater sense of accomplishment. Great job on the jam entry!
Thank you for your feedback! Perhaps I should have added more rooms of established difficulty types, or handled room generation differently. The room generation is completely random, so you never know if you'll get five easy rooms or five difficult ones back to back. I appreciate your input, thank you!
I managed to get that one level to 74 but I noticed the highscore stays 0? Not a big fan of the input as it is hard to do lef t and right while jumping to do a perfect diagonal jump. Also having to press space and not hold is not a great experience. The job application merging up is hilarious tho.
