This game is really awesome! The visuals, audio and concept are peak. This could totally be a standalone game. Peak submission!
Oke so on my first round I managed to not get a single star ahahaha XD
My only real criticism that I have is simply that I don't read very fast so at first the text skipped before I could fully understand it and as a result I didn't really get what I had to do, I saw that it said so in the top left corner but same difference, it was too hecktic for my small brain to actually be able to get a good look at it first time round.
But I took a second to properly read what it said and after a few rounds I got the hang of it! Great fun! Good visuals, and the imputs seem to be very responsive which is of course very important in a rythm game! I just wish I saw more of the cat :c hahaha.
Well done!
What a nice rythm game. I just wish the controls were clearer. I was fully expecting the semicricle waves to be played with the spacebar. When that didn’t work, I tried using the mouse. The only cues that were totally clear were the left and right arrows. The colors being the only clear clue about what you’re meant to press are also not very accessible (making something solely color-dependant). I would sayy that this would need work on, but overall this is very nicely done.
Thanks I did now! I will say the music is really good, and I love the rythm game stuff, but it was really overwhelming. A lot of commands to learn, and I didn’t earn a single star at the end of the tutorial. I will add that even with the tutorial, I thought I had to use the left/right arrow when it was showing that icon, and even to do the impossibly weird task of holding the arrow and moving the mouse in that direction.
When it added the “hold Q and space while moving the mouse in that direction”, I was really overwhelmed. The game became even harder. I don’t think I can distinguish that one from the regular scratch. And then when playing, I hadn’t developed the intuition to know what to do when each thing shows up, and my muscle memory also hadn’t been developed.
It seems great, but even with the tutorial it’s a very steep learning curve. For a week-long jam, that’s a lot already. For a full game, it’s incomplete because it is requiring too much from the player at first try. I think it would really be better if the tutorial moved at a slower pace or even better if there were several tutorial levels that introduce new concept on top of older ones.
WTF! HOW!? This is incredible, a rhythm game with multiple really good tracks and interesting gameplay. I got a little tripped up by the scratches but they’re so fun! Visuals are nice, audio is fantastic. Playing as a DJ cat is VERY SERIOUS! Incredible, incredible work! Holy moly.
It was a bit challenging, but since I hadn’t played rhythm games much lately, I really enjoyed it! The game is well-made, and I liked the artwork too.
I wasn't expecting to find such a polished rhythm game in this jam! The UI, music, and art are all fantastic!
Playing on a laptop without a mouse, I found it a bit challenging at first. Then I realized that whether it was the blue line or the orange line, I could just press W and E at the same time. :D Yay!
How did you manage to do this in a week?? This is BRILLIANT ! 5 stars all across !! Props to the composers these songs go hard.
You probably already know, but this is amazing!
It even has practice mode like guitar hero.
My only feedback i about scratches. Use left mouse and right mouse instead.
Q being in proximity with W and E gets people confused I think
sick ass game its so polished the music is great its so awesome :D
