Very enjoyable. I loved the juicy UI. At a certain point it became very easy, but it was still fun to knock all the crowds of enemies around.
I thought it was cool how the damage was based on how fast the sword was moving and that you did actually need to spin the sword to damage enemies you could also ram into them. I did feel like the game was too hard at the start and too easy at the end. Without the larger sword upgrades I felt like I couldn't win and with them I felt unstoppable. But that could be the feeling you're going for
Thank you for the feedback!
I definitely wanted to give the overpowered feeling, but I think there's a lot I could change to make that more difficult/satisfying to attain.
I'll revisit the early game balance to get a better feel for how I could tweak it as well to smooth out the experience.
Simple but really nice idea.
The first game from this jam that I played which incorporates dizziness as a mechanic, I enjoyed it, thanks for the game!
Love seeing a win screen! I regret I didn't have time to flesh out a serious story more.
Thank you for playing!
Really good polished game. Really deserves more ratings. I also made a vampire survivor like game for this jam.
good job!
This game was really fun to play, and I didn't notice any bugs at all! My only critique would be that it's a little too easy to win (if you make the sword big lol), so there should be some boss you have to beat at the end. Maybe you could add a harder mode?
Just some suggestions, you did a good job.
It was very fun playing, I would like to make some critics, but I don't know what to talk about, there's not too much bad things in it
I’m terrible at this kind of game but I still had fun with it. Fun name too. Nice job!
Had a ton of fun with this, so much so I got the win screen :D
I really liked how this survivors-like adds the mouse wiggle to make it spin, Just an extra bit of engagement that made me feel powerful.
This game was also very funny!
The asset packs used definitely added to the overall enjoyment, and I thought they were very well implemented and enhanced the core game loop. I don't know if the mouse wiggling would have hit the same without the music haha.
One confusing part of the game was having seemingly reached a max level upgrade, but still being able to select it.
Overall had a great time!
(Also your developer intro is awesome)
That's exactly what I was going for. Vampire Survivors like with a bit more engagement!
I ended up crunching on Friday and didn't get to add in all the SFX and fun bits I hoped, I agree it adds a ton to the fun.
Also limiting the upgrades was last minute and not tested thoroughly, so thank you for pointing that out. I'll look into the cause!!
and thank you :) I made the intro after my last jam and was looking forward to including it.
As someone who also made a "Spin the mouse to spin the thing" game, I got a LOT of mileage out of an accessibility toggle to make it so that you just hold left click instead. That said, great job! The upgrades were satisfying and the speed-based damage is always fun.
Thank you! Yes all the damage leaned on the physics engine, which lead to a few headaches along the way.
Yeah if I could change 1 thing I would certainly allow spinning to be click and hold based, maybe with a little meter to display your current spin speed. Or something along those lines.
Thank you for your feedback!
Like Vampire Survivors but with a sword, cool idea, I know you can make this into something awesome. I appreciate how damage is dealt, its not instant, you get a chance to still get away even when cornered, that's good. I like the upgrades! I feel like wiggling the mouse is too complicated, why not just make it spin on holding mouse or something easier? However, I appreciate your love of swords, I also made a spinning sword jam and I'm surprised more people didn't pick our sword spin theme! Good work :)
Thanks for playing. I would need to figure some other way to make the spinning more precise if I were to expand this out.
Originally I wanted to have the sword track the mouse position but that didn't feel good either. I'll revisit that mechanic in the future!
Very difficult, don't love the fact that you need to wiggle the mouse. Pretty neat game overall!
Thank you for playing! I had a feeling I was taking a risk with the mouse wiggling. Lacks precision and sort of gets tedious after some play. But I wanted to try it out! I appreciate your feedback.
