really good, nice idea!

Very well put together, with excellent visual feedback and sound design, and a satisfying victory animation

Loved the game! The mechanics are simple but the game gets quite challenging at the higher levels. The level transitions and dynamic music were great as well :)

Really good audiovisual synthesis to create something that's more than the sum of the parts. Really like the level completion when you trigger the "spin to win" win condition.

That's a really good game! The mechanics are quite creative and the puzzles are fun and straight to the point, it makes me think but doesn't ache my head, I like the little hermit crab too, it's cute, the futuristic music is so nice too, nice job!

Beautiful and so smart, how do you actualy come up with a concept like that?? I'm glad I found it it was genuinely fun to complete and I would totally buy it if it was a low-priced game with more levels

Submitted(+2)

A really good puzzle game, the concept works very well, and the level design is excellent! I really enjoyed it!

Trying to find the path to go infinite was really fun. I especially enjoyed the animation when you do go infinite. Great work!

Love this idea! Visual and music is good :)

Nice game, cool concept. Good job!

Very clever game both technically and visually, and audio to match.

Some levels made me think while others fell to trial and error.

Overall a cool experience, nice job!

Love this puzzle idea. Well done, I got stuck on level 3, but I just skipped it and played the other levels. Nice job

Love this game :D the audio and art are amazing and the core mechanic feels unique and interesting, very satisfying to walk off the edges hearing the voom sound effect, even better when you solve the puzzle

I absolutely love this game! You guys killed it with the concept! Love the crab model with the tiny little hat. Best sound design in the world as well :)

I adore the creativity of these puzzles, very unique, making them into a kind of an exploration game, where you are trying to find that one continuous line within the surface you walking around on, and then trying to figure out how to get there.

Playing on the windows build, I didn't notice any changes when toggling "transition intensity" setting for some reason. Also "serious mode" toggle didn't do anything either, not sure if thats just a goof. A lack of proper ending kinda took me by surprise considering the polish to the game otherwise! But its ok, everything else about the game is pretty much perfect!!!

Congrats on making a masterpiece guys!

hi, thank you for playing! the serious mode just gives the crab a propeller hat, it's purely visual

also the transition intensity setting worked for me when I tested it on the windows build - the skybox shader doesn't stretch or get brighter in the minimal setting, and the extreme setting makes it MUCH brighter

we added this setting because some playtesters told us that the transitions hurt their eyes a little, so it potentially not working is a cause for concern..... if it's not too much trouble could you check it again? if it doesn't work we'll have to edit the page to add a warning

I tested it out a bit now, it seems the pause menu does actually work and changes intensity correctly. But the main menu doesn't work! If you change intensity in the main menu, the game still plays transitions on the previous intensity level. The only way to update intensity is to open pause menu and go to the settings page, you don't actually need to click on the toggle, intensity instantly updates when the page is opened already.

Basically the only way transition intensity is updated is from the pause menu, the main menu only updates the text that is displayed on the setting toggle, but the actual intensity value is unchanged.

Also this does not happen for the hat lmao, the setting works from both pause and main menus. Don't know how I didn't notice that you only get the hat on serious mode! But yeah, I'd advise trying to replicate this and if this behavior is consistent, updating the page to warn people.

thank you so much for the detailed report! i’ll make sure to add a warning to the page

I loved every aspect of this game and gave it 5 stars in every category. Very well deserved!

We finally have games. Really cool project! I personally got stuck on the 3rd or 4th puzzle and gave up. But either way one of the best games I've played in the jam. My main criticism is the lack of an Anti-aliasing making the game very jagged and the crab character looks out of place with such low resolution and tiny bad communicated details.

Hi, lead artist here. Thank you for your feedback!!

Could you let me know, where I can improve upon the character design for future updates and projects?

What a unique and interesting game! very good graphics and satisfying sound effects. good job!

Game is satisfying. Nice use of theme. Felt very polished. Very nice visuals!! But what reeeaaaallllyyyy caught my attention.........

My goodness, Calypso.. The sound-world.. especially the MUSIC had me spinning!! The synth arpeggios loop is clever for this. Are the drums and guitar all live recorded? It's so insane to me. Did you do sound too? The spinning sound and matched the visuals so well! Love it so much! :>

Good work to you all! :>

Developer(+3)

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words!

Yes, I did music & sound! Relatively new to sound design and foley but I was very proud of how the spinning turned out! Did a lot of workshopping with the team to make it feel satisfying for the player. Guitars were all live recorded, but the drums were written and produced in Ableton using one-shots!

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to write this, it has made my day! Keen to check out Contract: Deathloop when I’m back on my PC!
