This is a BLAST to play, it's really silly and fun. Every time I die it makes me giggle. Amazing game!
Loved it
This was a ton of fun and there's so much potential with this concept! I really enjoyed mastering the formless and circle shape physics to get through the level. Trying to find out how they worked best, like for jumping and momentum, kept me engaged until the end.
I wasn't sure how the triangle was intended to "help" me get through the level once I got to it, but I had fun with it's mechanic nonetheless.
A couple of bug notes, whenever you respawn at the start sometimes the camera is panned down more than when the game starts. This isn't game-breaking, the character is still plenty visible and it corrects itself by the first ramp. Additionally, not sure if this was intended, but the triangle only seems to launch when it is on a certain side (I assume the one on the ground when it first loads in)
Great job and congratulations on your first game!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm thinking about turning it into a flash game a la something you would play on Cool Math after the jam. Sorry about the confusion on the triangle (you were not supposed to be able to bounce to the end, instead forced to angle and launch). Definitely ran out of time for bugfixes, a functional camera, or any implementation for other shapes.
ok this has potential!! First thing that comes to mind is, would be nice to have some reason to use the formless blob! Otherwise it feels kinda pointless, but there's an idea behind this I can see the vision
Generally fighting the engine's random friction inconsistencies is very common in beginner projects that use built-in physics, which is why I like to advise people to try coding their own gravity and inertia and stuff
But for a first-timer this is really solid regardless, congrats on getting something out!
Thanks for responding! I had more plans for the formless blob that sadly I ran out of time to implement. I actually really enjoyed the challenge of slowly making my movement feel better as I learned Godot. At first the movement was extraordinarily unwieldy, but eventually got to a place I'm content with (although maybe I should have spent more time on actually making levels).
Really solid feeling platformer. Not having an ending is probably the game’s biggest flaw, but you’ve only got so much time so it’s understandable that it’s not there. Regardless, you made the game feel really good, and the game looks nice too. For a first game, well done.
