It was a very good first impression thatnks to the funny sounds and music but I unfortunately didn't like the gameplay. The controls felt sluggish and unresponsive and I didn't really understand the game. It seems that you change the relative gravity by spinning the world but Wendell also magnetizes to the ground quite strongly so you have to really shake the world to actually do anything, which for me personally felt very frustrating. But other comments here seem satisfied so I suppose I'm not the target audience.

Developer

Thank you still for your feedback. We've gotten this a few times now and I believe the problem is, that at no point we communicate how exactly the world works.

While you and probably many other people assume we just change gravity, that is not exactly what is happening. We spin the entire world. This means when you are on the outside and rotating, there is a centrifugal force towards the outside, which feels off to you.

This is absolutely on us for not explaining the concept through the game clearly.

Oh, that sounds interesting! Was the system hard to make? How long did it take?

Developer(+1)

Funnily enough no. It's easier than changing gravity. We just have a root node, that spins. That's it. Everything the player interacts with is attached to that root node.

Very wholesome and fun!! Straight forward and easy to understand but still need to use your brain :D

Thanks for playing! Awesome to hear you enjoyed it :)

this game is so cute! i love the presentation of the game so much, the art, music, and the wendell reaction lines are all so playful, i was grinning from ear to ear! the levels were also really fun to engage with, trying to find the right sequence of rotations to get wendell to where they want to be was fun! there were points were i found it a bit difficult to navigate as it felt like the surfaces were pulling wendell back to it regardless of the current rotation, but yeah slowing down a bit more and zooming out using the camera made it a lot easier to handle. thank you for sharing this wonderful little creature, congrats on the submission!

Thanks! Great to hear you also had fun with our game as much I had fun with yours! You are right, there needed to be more of an explanatory start on what's happening, especially considering that you are controlling the whole world instead of only our cute Wendell.

Love the SFX, idea is very neat. Some of the later levels it felt like the physics were "fighting me", Wendell was traveling in ways I was not expecting. Other than that I liked it :)

Developer

Thanks! You are right about some of the later levels, dev time took a lot of time from designing levels and polishing them some more.

it s very hard but good game

Developer

Thank you! Most levels allow you to take your time. If you want to go for a real challenge, you can try beating our times as well :)

Poor Wendell getting loads of bonks, great idea, reminds me of those OG Sonic chaos emerald levels, the sounds you made for this were a nice touch. Good job

Thank you so much! One of us might have been slightly inspired by Super Monkey Ball, but only one and he wouldn't shut up about it.

I really enjoyed it. I could see it causing nausea with some of the movement when you go fast enough.

Great concept, adorable protagonist! took me abit to figure out what was going on in the tutorial as the physics were kind of whack and kept launching me out into space, but this game was adorable : ) i hope wendell gets all the potatoes in the world

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah I understand. It is difficult to convey how the world behaves, when the camera is focused on Wendell. We tried having a central camera, but that made it kind of lame so we stuck to the version, where there is a little more "getting used to".

Thank you for playing and we fed Wendell a potato just for you! <3

The idea is very cool and creative. The camera did make make very nauseous, when moving.

Thanks for the feedback. Feel free to scroll to zoom out more. One person, that has tested the game before release has had problems with nausea as well and zooming out fixed it.

Ah isee! I didn't notice I could zoom out, good to know~
