Great music on start up, though i couldn't really do much for some reason. right after i select the character thingy, the game just shakes up and down then boom, i loose. I did download it so i can try it some more with a controller.

I can make the spin happen pretty well, though it probably would have felt better on a controller. The actual gameplay is rather difficult, just because falling off is so easy. For some reason holding X just kills you.

Overall nice job making this in PICO-8, it's pretty impressing and the collisions feel good, but the stages themselves feel like a pain to navigate. I'm impressed by the concept, movement, and collisions, but I didn't enjoy finding the other tops over and over and bashing against them all that rewarding.

Developer

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! Holding X was definitely a debug feature I forgot to remove.

It's repeatedly pausing and unpausing for me, but it doesn't seem like anyone else is having this problem lol

Developer

I'm sorry that's happening. I left the .p8 file in the description if you want to download that and try to run it in pico-8. Next time I'll include an .exe.

this being pico 8 is cool, nice game

Yea this being done in pico-8 is really appealing to me,  great execution on the concept.

Developer

Means a lot coming from you!

Had a good time!

The gayblade designs were great, and I love how they all just had normal names lol.

Charging up the spin was fun once I understood how to do it, very small window to understand but in a way I like how you learn as you go.

Was a nice time going around and knocking out other gayblades (funny sentence to type out)

Well done!

Developer

Thank you! My friends are my gayblades :)

YOU MADE THIS IN PICO-8!?!

Pico-8 was my first real coding experience, love that there is a game here made with it!!

Developer

More to come!

Entry level is quite high - quick time events window for charging is too short (in first level at least). During the gameplay sometimes it’s easy to get lost in this isometric perspective. But overall very cool take on bay-blade gameplay! One of the best in this jam I would say

Developer

Thank you!

This is a cool idea but the controls and map make it janky, i feel isometrics just make it confusing and hard to move around.

Developer

Yeah it is a little janky isn't it

A great concept! It was a bit hard to understand how to get the spin meter up at the start, but I soon figured it out. Well executed!

Thank you!
