I enjoyed the art and the ultimate spin move was quite fun to use!
Cool result for seven days, on a genre i enjoy to play ^^
I like the overall setting of the game. One thing i had to mention. For me it seemed to be a bullet hell, not bullet heaven like u wrote, cause the enemies seemed the only one to have the bullets on their side. (But please correct me there, if i was just to bad to get to the point where the bullet escalation comes from me^^)
The mechanic for the ultimate was very cool to me. There u feel really powerfull and it was satisfying to slice through the masses :D
My points for improvement.
Let the player strike in the direction he is looking. Don't know if it was a design decision, but now it didn't felt so intuitive to me.
The hit feeling was okay but i think with some more polishing and juice u can get a bit more out of it. Also it felt like the enemies immediatley make damage on me, when they arrive in range. So go for an attack always was pretty risky cause u very often also get hit, that doesn't feel so satisfying atm for me.
But overall a pretty cool game that has potential for some nice improvement :)
Good work!
This is a nice survivors-like game, I really liked the overall mood and the art especially (even if the character looks bald from behind XD). Gameplay-wise, it would've been nice to have a bit more than just stat increases on the wheel, and a bit more feedback on hitting enemies than just a light knockback. But it worked well for me and I enjoyed it. :D
Metagame cog 91/126
Not bad though spin mechanic does feel a little tacked on and not so thematic
Art style is interesting though with its very unqiue creepy vibe.
Like the asthetic. A bit Difficult for me but a solid experience. Nice work!
Really cool game! Enjoyed the music and character design alot!
Very pretty environment! Good gameplay and fun upgrades.
Everythings plays together. I dont know how some people get a so huge score, but I will never get there. Well done!
Really love the art style and enemy/character designs here. The animations are also generally solid overall, and I especially liked the enemies'! I do wish deflecting wasn't tied to the dodging/spinning mechanic, because it made it difficult to actually deflect things. If I deflected while moving forwards, I'd spin into a horde of enemies; but if I deflected while moving backwards, I just moved away from the projectile without deflecting it.
More SFX would also be helpful for things like hearing where enemies are coming from, when a projectile is about to be shot, etc.
The game also started getting pretty laggy for me once a lot of enemies started spawning in at once (around 225 kills for me). It might be nice to have a wave based system instead of having them constantly spawning all the time.
Overall, fun experience!
Yeah, performance was a big issue that we could not figure out in time. Glad you enjoyed it regardless!
Happy to hear that the enemy/character designs are clicking with a lot of people!
Also thank you for the thoughtful feedback!
Great Roguelike game with some nice visuals. The deflect and spin attack felt pretty unique. The inclusion of Leader boards is a bonus as well. It did feel too easy to run from enemies while at the same time difficult to hit them without taking damage.
The 3D models are really well done. The combat feels decently responsive. I also like that you can reflect the projectiles, is very fun. I just wish the left-click attack had more range. It’s also pretty slow which makes it easy to get damaged when doing. The right-click attack is the one I used most as you can get out of the way.
The artwork is really well crafted, and the enemy character design in particular stands out. The game plays well and it's fun! Excellent work!
Thank you! Glad to hear you like the character designs :
I love this game, the character and enemies look really cool combat is simple but does the job. The ultimate also was pretty cool, you could probably have made the ultimate the whole combat and I wouldn't complain
Thank you!! Happy to hear you like how the characters look!
Amazing theming with great character/enemy design. Combat could feel better - invincibility frames and being able to look in directions other than where your moving would help. The Spin Ultimate was fun. The wheel for picking upgrades was cool but ultimately limiting to not have any choice in upgrade. Also why would i ever skip - you get one extra but you still end up with the same amount in total because you lose one to gain one. Great game overall! I enjoyed.
Glad you enjoyed it! The idea was for the player to save the spins so that they could use them on a wheel with upgrades that they want. Every time you level up, the wheel shows random upgrades, with duplicates possible. For example, I don't spin until I see lots of crit chance and crit damage so that I can maximize my DPS.
Very charming and ambitious. This seems to have the bones of something really fun, but the high input sensitivity makes it extremely difficult to keep attacking after spinning past someone. That along with the fact that you die so quickly can make the game pretty difficult to play for more than a few seconds. I hope you decide to iterate upon and refine the mechanics further, because Id be excited to come back to it.
Thanks a lot! We definitely could have benefited from more play testing.
Yeah, its a ton more work than expected. So much to do in a week. Lessons learned.
Great work, everything seems very polished!
The visual aesthetic and catchy music really stood out!
I felt the combat was a little "squishy" or something, not sure why but I wasn't really feeling the impacts and was surprised when my health was low sometimes.
I recommend a brief period of invulnerability after taking damage so a group of enemies can't burst you down all at once.
The spinning wheel felt really cool, this is a very nice entry!
Thank you! I think we could have made combat feel better by introducing hit freeze frames, as well as post-processing effects when the player got damaged.
Nice game bro, very addictive! (The special attack is SICK )
wish my pc was beeffy enough to play this
It was less a PC issue and more a web-browser optimization issue, but with so little time in a jam there's only so much we can do <3
If you enjoyed it I highly recommend downloading it and trying to reach a new high score!
Pretty cool. I like the special attack.
