this is super fun, i love the mechanic of grabbing stuff and chuking it at the enemy's, i also love how you can grab enemy's and their projectiles, great work i just wish there was more feedback for things though
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed the grab mechanic! You're right, I should've added more feedback to interactions and stuff. I kinda pushed that stuff to the side for this one. I'll keep it in mind from now on!
ok first off, insaneo break beats. But also this game is pretty sick all around. I like how dynamic the grab is, how you can grab objects and enemies, and then you can throw them if you're good or just go in close and smack enemies. I really could've used some health packs though, I lowkey couldn't beat it cuz I just couldn't make it to the boss with enough health. But still fun game dude!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the music, because it was scrambled together so last minute 😭 I was pretty much remixing some old stuff I made with some amen break samples. I wanted the grab to be as dynamic as possible! I wanted the player to feel like they could do anything if they can just grab it and spin it! And yeah, no healing items was a total oversight for me. I got too used to playing the game and underestimated its difficulty 😭😭
I really liked the throwing mechanic. It was a little difficult to hang of it at first and I do wish there was some visual indicators to show damage on enemies and objects, but this was pretty fun overall.
This truly was✋🛞🤚absolute spinema...
Thanks for playing! Tbh visual indicators are something that completely slipped passed my mind, which was a massive blunder on my part. I also wonder if making the rooms bigger would've helped with making the controls feel less awkward. Still glad you liked the peak spinema though !!
The tutorial notes were very easy to understand. It’s great that you can grab enemies, not just objects—after all, you can do more than just throw objects; you can actually grab enemies and slam them into things to defeat them. It was a lot of fun, Good job!
Thanks, I'm glad you had fun! I wanted to expand the grab a lot more. I wanted to make the boss grabbable at some points during their attacks, but sadly had to scrap it because I thought it would take too long 😔. Maybe in a future revisiting of this!
A wonderfully original idea, fun writing and really satisfying physics. An excellent jam entry all around. Nice work!
Thanks for playing, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I had a pretty hard time putting this together, but despite all the jank that ended up in the final product I'm still glad that I made it!
I wasn’t very good at spinning and flinging the things. But i did enjoy it.
It took me quite a while to notice i could grab on both to enemies and their projectiles, but when something was possible to grab i never really understood. (I played without mouse.
I also got a bit confused where the lightening started because at the beginning it seemed like i couldn’t go down the ramp thing towards the enemies, so i thought i needed to attack them from afar. But then somehow later i could.
It would also have been nice when you died that the game stayed there for a second instead of instantly transferring you to a you died screen.
Good game though.
Thanks for playing. I'm glad you could still enjoy it! You're right, I should've done better on signalling/communicating to the player things gameplay wise. I wanted to have a better death screen, but unfortunately ran out of time 😔😔
Super fun! Spinning some things was kind of hard but its a mechanic which I wish I saw more often (throwing things around)!
Thanks for playing! The spin, grab, throw mechanic was the first thing that came to my head when I heard "spin to win", but it was a real challenge to program 😭 😭 since this is my first time making a game like this. So I'm surprised I managed to get it in a somewhat playable state in time!
Throwing stuff around like that is actually very fun and satisfying.
I did have trouble to buildup the spin due to awkward controls, and the dragon would often push me out of bounds (one time I was fighting it in the starting area lol).
The audio is fitting and the visuals are super good, I'm a big fan of MS paint type graphics.
Thanks for playing! In hindsight I should've given the boss a lot more room, and turned off the collision at some point during the rush animation to prevent clipping 😭😭. I'm glad you enjoyed the visuals and the audio too! The ms paint graphics were kind of a gamble so I'm glad it paid off.
Extremely creative gameplay, fits the theme perfectly.
Also metal gear inspired humor this is great absolute cinema.
enjoyable!
Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Tbh I also wanted to add a mgs inspired death screen but ran out of time 😔(also I think you mean *absolute spinema)
Fun idea, but i would polish the controls. It has pretty cool visual and songs. Overall it's a fun game!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the controls are going to be one of the first things I'll be reworking if/when I revisit this, and I'm glad you like the visuals! I don't know what possessed me to decide on making every asset in ms paint, so I'm glad it paid off a bit 🙏
This is a fun concept. This lack a bit polish but I'd love to this this concept expended. You do get softlocked when you don't any more object to throw to the ennemy and you have to reset, which is a bit frustrating, but the feeling was great once you got the hang of it, congrats !
Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated! I've honestly kinda fallen in love with developing this game, I still have some things that I wanted to add but never go the chance. So there is a chance that I will come back to this concept/game eventually. Also, about running out of objects to throw, I don't know if I clarified it properly in the "tutorial" but you can throw around the enemies and their projectiles too! Slamming them against the wall damages them.
