Really neat game! I liked the multitasking and the spinning in the chair animation! I liked how later on I got a lot of unique prompts that I hadn't seen before, forcing me to actually read and figure out what my action should be rather than go off of memory.

If I could give some feedback, I think for the fill in in the blank one, it might be good to include negative responses that are correct in some way. I found myself just looking for the word that was more positive rather than reading the prompt, so that could help spice things up. Maybe if there was a competitor to Whiskers, you could write negative things about them instead? I also felt that minigame was a little hard to understand at first. The tutorial for it is pretty small, so I didn't actually figure it  out until my 3rd try I think. I kept trying to click the actual word instead, maybe because the words looked like buttons? I'm not sure, but not a huge issue since I ended up figuring it out anyway.

I felt that some of the keep vs trash documents were a bit hard to understand. Maybe because I was reading them so fast that I couldn't actually comprehend them XD but like the 9 out of 10 that mentions a dog or the one that mentions a lion, I didn't really understand what those meant and kinda just guessed whenever they showed up. So maybe a little bit of clarity there? But it could also just be a reading skill issue lol

I wasn't too sure how talking to Whiskers impacted the game in terms of the player's goal. I couldn't tell if reputation was being impacted based on my answer, but I thought that it shouldn't since you're talking to Whiskers' themselves? And so I didn't really know whether my answer actually mattered or not, so sometimes I would just pick the funny one. To solve this clarity issue, I think putting a pop-up whenever you actually increased/decreased reputation would be nice! Something simple like that could definitely help the player understand how the mechanics should be working.

Overall, really great job! The art is fantastic and I loved the intro cutscene! The cutscene was done so well, that it didn't really need words to explain anything because just looking at the panels was enough context. I really enjoyed this game! Congrats to you all!

Thank you so much for the feedback and all the suggestions, this helps a lot!

About talking to Whiskers, it decreases or increases your money for the day depending on what answer you give. There was supposed to be a shop where players could buy power-ups with that money to make the minigames easier, but we didn’t have time to implement it. A pop up to highlight that the money is being impacted is a great idea though!

We aren’t sure if we’ll keep developing this game or not, but if we do we’ll surely have your suggestions in mind! :D

This was so cute! I had a lot of fun with this one! The art is adorable, the concept is fantastic, and I loved spinning around in our little chair waiting for tasks to come up. I just wish there was a bit more variety with the gameplay each day or a few more elements to distract you, like an energy bar that you can replenish by drinking coffee or something. Great work! :]

Art is impeccable! Some thoughts:

- As some people comment below, the interpretation of the theme is great!

- The art to introduce the objective and tutorials are really nice, really helps the player get into the game without needing to check walls of text, great job on that!

- The minigames are great but I wish there was more depth to them.

Solid!

This was super cute! The idea of spinning a story rather than some object (other than the chair) was really creative! The visuals and overall vibes were really well done! I really liked the art for the intro and end screens, especially. My only complaint was all five days being the same content but harder, it would've maybe been nice if some of the elements were introduced slowly throughout the week, or some of the specific text changed throughout the week, but that's probably too much to ask during such a tight time limit. Maybe in a full version seeing different news cycles hit would be cool.
Great work, I had a good time!

Thank you for the feedback, I´m really happy you had fun! Introducing things slowly is a good idea, it´s our first real game so we are still learning and comments like yours are really important to us, so thank you so much!

The art sounds and music were very strong in this game! I found the gameplay a bit frustrating. I think in the match section, it doesn't give you enough time to read and pick the correct response. Also, your money counter goes down way to fast to keep up.  Other than that very cute game, great art style!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I ajusted the difficulty a little, I hope the experience is more enjoyable now.

It needs to be playable on browser for the game jam ?

Developer

Not necessarily. I asked one of the mods on Discord, and they explained that both web games and downloadable games are valid for the jam.

I tried publishing it as a web game, but the animations wouldn't work at all and I was running out of time, so I decided to make it a downloadable game only.
