The visuals are great it looks like I'm playing this straight on an N64!

The artstyle for this game definitely fits into the nintendo 64 concept and I think is executed very well, but I think the overall gameplay and features lack a bit because of it, as there seems to be only one enemy type and two attacks with no modifiers or enhancements. Overall I think this is a visually appealing and pleasing game but it could do with some more unique and decisive features to maintain player intrigue. Good stuff :)

Visually this game is on point - it definitely needs more substance as others said, but the character design and level aesthetic really does harken back to those games of old. It's delightfully grungy, and a great showcase of how you can use Unreal Engine to make more than just hyper-realistic spaces. It's a great tool for game design in general, and you leverage aspects of it well.

With proper fleshed out levels and some kind of progression, this could be a fun game for sure - either a classic collectathon, or a story driven metal-arms style experience.

It's got heart - with the right legs to stand on, it could do quite well.

The visuals are amazing; you captured the old timey game aesthetic very well. Plus the cool character designs and level. The combat is also pretty decent how you have to choose what attack colour to use at different times. But there was no music when it would really fit this game. No objective, so i kind of just ran around shooting until i got bored. And no progression; like it would be nice if there were waves that slowly got harder. I didn't really enjoy my time playing it for those reasons. But it's a pretty good foundation for what could be a nice game in the future!

How I love the n64 aesthetic, and this game captured it really well! The visuals and mc design are super nice, and contribute so  much to the vibe of the game! I thought that the mechanic of having to shoot enemies with the opposite color is really cool too, and makes you think before you shoot instead of getting away with spamming a shoot button [:

Movement in these kinda games are always a bit tricky to nail, but I think that the movement was in general pretty nice! If anything, I think that the jump could have been a bit faster - when I look at Spindo I imagine he springs up and then falls down kinda heavily :b

I understand that time constraints were tight for this, but I think that the player experience would be really enhanced by adding some kinda music or ambient track as well. All in all, I really enjoyed it, and I love to see these kinda n64 style games!

It was a neat short game! I've never been crazy fond of retro style games, but i really liked the design of the character and would like to see him undergo more adventures!

The movement did it's job, but if you plan to go forward with this, the jump was a little floaty.

Moreover, it's a bit annoying to have to turn your character just to aim elsewhere so bind that to the mouse/camera rotation instead.

Nice job! I really enjoy n64-esque games :) The character moves around nicely and has a cool design too! An ambient track would have been nice, or some kind of health pickup (maybe from destroying enemies?). Other than that, nice lil game :D

This is a fun project! I love the design of Spindo, it feels very authentic to the N64 style which has been replicated so well.

Loved the visuals but it doesn't make up for the lack of gameplay. Sound design was very weird, and the stage was lacking in terms of enemy types. No real goal too, because you can't even win.

Thanks. That's totally fair. Having limited time I mostly focused on the visuals... And sound design is not my strong suit. I just didn't want the game to be completely quiet.
