I like the customization and atmosphere. Unfortunately I never won and have presumably lost my kneecaps. I know there is only so much time for the gamejam, but sound is the biggest thing missing for me. Bumping noises and a creepy background track would go a long way. I was also unable to consistently spawn any beyblades after the first rip and would have to close and reopen to have another chance. Also when I did fill the room with beyblades the character started interacting with them and I was launched a couple times, maybe not intended but very fun to discover.
atmosphere, customization and janky physics that break your kneecaps and launch you into the air were the main things i tried to perfect in this game, i 100% agree that it needed sound though especially the classic beyblade metal clink and ambience sounds/music.
You did what i never could, fill the room with beyblades! also it's likely you weren't able to spawn another one of yours due to "not having one" (honestly this was one of the worse features), you're able to pick up bey blades off the floor by crouching and there's no code that determines if the beyblade is yours so you can just steal other peoples beyblades, if for example you were determined enough you could steal your opponents beyblades mid battle and win automatically! anyways i hoped you enjoyed the game!
A little tricky to get the controls working on the web (for future players, close the main menu with esc before going fullscreen, then walk forward into the grey rectangle to start, and be careful not to crouch and move forward lest you close the browser window) but the actual beyblade fights are fun to watch! It's a cool little project, and I wonder how it could evolve in a v2.0.
I tried to close the menu with Esc but it didn’t work. Being a browser game, it just takes the fullscreen away; but even just clicking the “Quit” button with the mouse doesn’t do anything.
Struggling to play the game, I can't really see where to go in the first bit and the controls arent working as I imagine is intended?
