This game absolutely ruled!! I loved the art, the story, the Doom-like vibe of the dungeon segments, and you all made it work great together! The audio definitely could've been better, more pasta-y, and there were points where the main music track would suddenly cut out for a few seconds before starting again. I also would've liked something to gauge my progress in the dungeon or otherwise help me find the last remaining pasta without having to blindly scour the labyrinth. Overall though, this game was one of the highlights of the jam for me, I'd really love to see more of it!
Very enjoyable game! Only felt like I was skating trough the map that felt a bit off.
I love all the pasta shapes, they are such cute little goobers! (Okay, Farfalle is a cute BIG goober.) I can agree that the enemies needed to be more aggressive; Ravioli was the most fun to fight because its jump animation looked kind of like an attack wind-up. The multiple endings and the unused art section were a nice finishing touch. Great job!
I had 2 issues with the game, but not deal breakers, the character felt hard to control/too slippery and the game was really easy, to the point the only reason I got hit is because I got lazy and hold W and spammed click, maybe enemies attack quicker or deal a looot of damage so you need to actually play caferully.
Honestly, this took me back to playing turok on the N64, the art is gorgeous, concept its great and the story is fun!
I just want to know what you use to make this game
I wouldn't be surprised if you told me it's pure C++
The art is great and I chose to gamble my money and won (even though I lost 2 times for the levels)
I can tell the game wanted to offer more but didn't have the time and for the last level it was a real maze and I was about to give up
You're not too far off with pure C++. It's written in D and I used raylib for rendering.
We indeed had to cut some content. A heat wave was passing through the country which caused our day care to close. We lost some time this way.
The last level was indeed perhaps a bit too complicated. I should have made that one a little easier perhaps.
