I know I'm quite late to this post, but I'm so glad that I found it. This void in reality has been chasing me across the map. It was quite the shocker initially when it showed up. I thought that it was a game error, but became less confident the more I realized that it had clearly established movement patterns and a consistent desire to nab me. I hadn't let it catch me. I've been playing for 12 hours straight, as I have two days off and wanted to binge this game. It has not disappeared, it has not relented, and no matter what I throw at it there is no stopping it. I reloaded the game and it was still there. What an absolute menace.

I'm just glad that it isn't a me thing, and that it's intentional.

I just got them now, I was confused, threw some MRE at it and did that whole song and dance of closer and farther, it just stood at the other end of the bridge near my base so I figured it was not hostile, when it walked over the MRE I was like "ok...im gunna hug ya show you I am friendly, and yeah crashed ;p I had just gone through the bad sun so when I reloaded the world was finally no longer barren earth hahah think it was like "Hey sorry for messing up your farm have a hug to fix it" 

I encountered him on day 12 I think. He ran away from me, so I tried to tackle him. It was a good time.
