Quite refreshing to play a little rhythm game! I really liked the idea of having the city, but I found myself not really having time to think about it, as I was focused all the time on the rhythm aspect of the game.

Nice to see a rhythm game, great job!!

Incredible game! I love everything about this! If there was some more content I would definitely pay like ten bucks for this on switch!

Developer

Hello there! Glad you enjoyed our game! we are definetely looking towards adding more content after this. Thanks for playing!

Did not expect a rythm game here to be honest D: Even though I'm not a big fan of those, I still enjoyed it and the art absolutely incredible. Audio tracks are cool as well, but the squeaking one gets pretty annoying after some time. Also, I have a little problem with the UI - when we're choosing our cards (and we have a moment to actually watch our city) we cannot see our stats, which makes it difficult to make correct business decisions.

Also, there's a funny bug. While in card choosing screen you can enter pause, leave it and the game will transform itself from a rythm game to an idle game, which is pretty funny :D

EDIT: Final score after letting the game run in the background for couple of hours   getting good at it :D

Developer

Hello! thanks for playing our game! glad to know you enjoyed it! for the bug, we have already fixed it and the current version will be updated here as soon as the jam ends! once again thanks for playing!

Rhythm is a great mechanism that you don't see enough of with small projects and the jams are great. The mechanisms are kind of an odd fit together, but it keeps the screen interesting.

Rhythm game + pick 1 out of 3 game? This was made in a lab specifically for me!!!!
I agree with the others that it wasn't completely understandable how the city thing works, but it didn't really bother me that much. The only thing I wish for is more songs, but that's probably too much to ask for in a game jam. Great, great work!

Developer

Hello there! glad you liked the game! the city is actually the one making the upgrades for you, every building built gives you an upgrade! its automatic tho cuz we felt that you already have too much to do with the Rhythm! Speaking of which, city is a simple way to see your progress. I completely understand that you felt the need of more songs, but considering the fact that in a game jam most people will play less than 5 minutes means that it is better that the focus be on the polish than the content. Thanks again for playing our game!

I agree with you!! My comment about more songs is mostly meant as feedback in case you ever decide to expand the game. I don't think the current amount hurts the game at all!

This is fun. The sound of the "notes" is so cute!

Developer

Hello! glad to know you liked our music! the "notes" sounds were made from OIIA cat sounds (cuz spin) and sqeaky toy! Thanks for playing our game!

It was neat.  I liked the mix of the roguelike "pick one of 3 upgrades" mechanic with the rhythm game.  Very creative

Excellent audio! I liked being able to hit multiple buttons/notes at once. Reminds me of my guitar hero days

Fun rhythm game! The money and upgrade stuff doesn't really mesh well with it though. I would much prefer if all of that was replaced with an extra song.

Developer

Thanks for trying it! We intentionally mixed rhythm gameplay with an upgrade loop instead of making a traditional rhythm game. I completely get preferring more songs tho, that's just a different direction than we were aiming for. Appreciate the feedback!

Awesome game and the music follows suit!

Very very fun game! The city content seemed to be disconnected, there was really no way to tell in game what they were doing for us. This game exuded seriousness and was really enjoyable to play!!

Developer

Hey there! Glad you enjoyed our game! Actually the wheel spins and earns you money, which is automatically used to grow the city, and every building in the city built gives you new upgrades! Once again, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Very nice game! The gameplay was very addictive but I got to a point where my hands got tired and I lost, I didn't understand at all how the money works in the game because I was to focused on the rhythm, I feel like city mechanic isn't connected to the core gameplay.

HAMPTER!

  • I immediately see that we were not the only one who took Warioware as an inspiration.
  • The visuals are so cute. I love the background, the credits, and the contrast on some of those elements
  • The yellow and black work really well together.
  • Might actually come back to this one later in the week to play some more. I had fun with this.
  • It just feels so good!
  • I just want MORE HAMPTER. NOT ENOUGH HAMPTER.

Great achievement for such little time. I am impressed!

Love this game! It feels very warioware and like 2010s flash game mixed with modern incremental games. If you kept working on it, I'd love to see more customization in the city-builder part- building hampter city as a reward for doing well. That would be so much fun! As it is though, it's a really cohesive package that's self-contained and really fun to play. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! Glad that you liked it!

Very fun little game, the art is very cohesive and the game itself is charming. This is a good base for an incremental game with a rhythm game component, well done!

Developer

We really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for playing!

Loved the way the game feels, it would be great to share how to play the game, and what will do what, it took me few seconds to understand that the concept and keys.. Keep up the great work

Developer(+1)

Hello! The keys are already highlighted at the start of the game.
