I really like seeing all the logos together, that's always kinda been a thing for me. Good sounds too! My mom called me while I was playing so I just started mindlessly spinning, made it to day 52. At some point I didn't have to pay rent anymore but to be honest I'm not sure when that happened lol.

Developer

haha, thanks so much for the comment! Rent formally stops at day 20 but this will be changed in the next update. Glad you were able to pass the time with the spinning !

I had a lot of fun with this! I would suggest making the money intake/animation faster the more you get as I found myself getting bored waiting for all the money to collect. Best of luck with future updates, looking good so far :)

Developer

That's a good suggestion and one I've been meaning to get around to! Thanks so much for taking a look and for the kind feedback :)

my fav stocks (so far) are meta and wendy's :3

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words ! Wendy's was quite tricky to draw, glad you liked it haha !

cool concept...wish i was this rich lolsome suggestions:
-adding sounds and a satifysing pop animation to the move counter would improve the game feel a lot

-good ui will improve this (saw ur WIP pics ur doing great)

a bug i found
-i can just span spin in the middle of the money animation and it spins dont know if it does anything lol but that's a bug i found

Developer

hey thanks so much for the feedback! I agree with your points and will make sure to keep them in mind as I polish the game. I'll also take a look at your game when I get the chance :)

Awesome game, I got super rich haha.
I wish I could spin for stocks in real life.

Developer

same here, if only it were that easy and also guaranteed to profit haha. Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment!

a neat little reimplementation of luck be a landlord. i wish that i could see what my stocks did after i bought them as a reminder somewhere, that would have been really convenient as i accidentally clicked one at the beginning of the game and didn't read it. the spin button is a little funky, you can click it forever and it's not super clear to me what happens if you do.

Hey thanks a ton for the feedback and taking a look at my game! I've since added the ability to inspect your stock portfolio and their stats, as well as fixed the spin button UI. But the main thing has been updating the UI to not be so prototype looking. Gonna release an update once the jam is over, hopefully people get the chance to come back and take a second look :)

Heres a WIP I wanted to share in case anyone would find it interesting ^^

I didn't know Luck be a Landlord so I had a fresh introduction to this style of gameplay and it was quite fun for a short while!

The game isn't really balanced it seems so I don't think you can even lose as the rent amounts are way below the amount I had every time it was due, or at least you can't lose without playing for a really long time, but for a Game Jam game that's really ok

Well done!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for checking the game out! Yes, balancing is currently a major issue, because as you said I also don't think its possible to lose but that's just something I sadly didn't have much time to do. The base game was only fully implemented on the day of submission and I only had some 2/3 days to work on it but I am going to keep optimizing and polishing the game post jam! Thanks again, and I'll make sure to give your game a try as well :)

this game is rather fun for being so simple i enjoyed the sound effects, just add a bit more visual charm and just a teeny bit more understandability

Developer(+1)

so fair! I only had about 2/3 days to implement this and would have loved to polish it up more, but I only finished the core mechanics on the day of submission so I will just have to do this once the jam concludes. Thank you for checking it out! I took a look at your game too, really well done :)

Pretty nice, simple improvements, I would have loved: showing how much rent is due while playing and counting your money up during the animation of "payout".
Some more mechanics like a "reroll" on the slection would have helped for a bit more control, but I knew what you were going for and the effects of the different stocks were versatile.

haha and I just broke it by pressing SPIN like 100 times, I think you need to disable the button.

Developer(+1)

thank you for the feedback! all very good points and a few of those were known things i wanted to tackle but just didn't have the time, unfortunately only got to spend the last 2 days working on the jam but will definitely continue to polish anad iterate after the jam!

I will take a look at your game as soon as I get the chance :)

Submitted

I can see what you were going for but there isnโ€™t much of a game mechanic feel to this and it got boring very quickly

Developer

I wanted to keep my scope small and manageable as I only had a couple of days of the jam to implement, but maybe I oversimplified it a bit too much. Thanks for the feedback!

It was fun! I think the resolution bug has been fixed.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback ! I will give your game a look as well :)

Submitted(+1)

Man, this was addicting. It's a pretty standard numbers go up type of game, but if it ain't broke don't fix it, I suppose.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for the feedback! I wanted to try a simple take on this genre to practice and manage my scope for the jam,  and was happy with the way it turned out as well :)

I'll take a look at your game as well when I get the chance

Submitted(+1)

I can't seeee. Sorry bub

Developer

Had an issue with build settings but everything should be resolved now, thanks for taking the time though! I will give your game a look when I get the chance tomorrow!

Submitted (1 edit)

Sadly when playing in the browser most of the game is cut off, so I can't see anything.
When you fix it, answer here and I'll try it out again.

Developer

Hey thanks for taking the time and letting me know, should be good now and I will make sure to check your game out tomorrow!

I don't really understand the point of the game or how it works and there were no sounds in the game.

Developer

Totally fair, I had an issue with my build but it should be resolved now. I will take a look at your game tomorrow when I have the chance!
